Arthur Fassnidge Jr., a loving father, grandfather, and friend went to be with the Lord on August 3, 2023, in Atascosa, Texas at the age of 81 years. Arthur was born on July 15, 1942, to Arthur T. Fassnidge Sr. and Catherine Stuffer in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by both of his parents and siblings, Bonnie A. Stout, and Claudia K. Gilbert. He will be missed by many, including his loving children, Thomas Wayne Fassnidge (Susan), Denise Shuler (William), Terry Fassnidge (Vicki) and Eric Arthur Fassnidge (Brooke); grandchildren Harley Fassnidge, Tiffani Glerum (Austin), Cory Shuler, Jameson Sutton, Ryan Fassnidge, Megan Fassnidge, Luke Fassnidge, Isabel Fassnidge, Avery Fassnidge, Nathan Fassnidge and Eli Fassnidge. Arthur was born in San Antonio, Texas and grew up in California; Pipe Creek, Texas; and Pleasanton, Texas. Arthur attended Pleasanton High School his Jr. and Sr. years. He went on to join the Navy and spent four years there. He married Lillie Jaggy in 1963 and they raised their children in Leming, Texas. He worked at DOWELL Oil Well Services company for about 25 years. He always had vivid memories of his working life there and was not afraid to share his memories with anyone who would listen. He always made friends with just about everyone he met. After he retired from DOWELL, he started an Oil Change business in San Antonio and then later opened one in Converse, Texas. He ran that business for approximately 30 more years, before he retired again. He started making bird houses, carving wooden boats, and making horse run carriages for decoration. The family will receive friends from 5:00pm-8:00pm on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at the Mission Park Funeral Home on 1700 SE Military Dr. San Antonio, TX 78214. This is just a visitation no service will be provided. The funeral service will be on Monday, August 21, 2023, beginning @ 12:30pm with Chaplain Wesly Craig officiating. The burial will be at 2:00pm at the Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
