Arthur Ramirez, our beloved Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, Brother-in-law and friend to all passed to join eternal life with his Savior Lord Jesus Christ on, September 22, 2012. At the time of his passing peacefully he was surrounded by family who prayed for him and all souls who have faithfully departed this life. In his new life he will be reunited with his wife Vera who he loved and cherished. Dad was born April 10, 1919 in San Antonio, Texas to Juan & Herminia Ramirez. He was the youngest of five siblings. Dad had a remarkably full life; he was a Gentleman thru each facet of his life. He was our Dad, our Friend, our Teacher, our Confidant and provided us with guidance and direction. To his Grandsons 5 Boys and Great Grandchildren 6 Boys & 1 Girlhe was fun. He was their "G-G PA" Great Grand Pa. He loved talking to them about fishing, hunting and his love for animals; especially dogs and horses. He was extremely receptive as each generation showed him their new electronic gadgets ranging from Atari to X-Box and more recently Personal Computers, lap tops, iPhones, iPads and the wondrous things they could do. He loved playing games with his Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren, but most of all just sitting down and listening to everyday events in their lives. Dad believed that education was a key to success and emphasized this to his Grandchildren and Great-grandchildren. We, his family, as well as his many friends can attest to his faithful Christian life. Dad was also lovingly dedicated to his family. Dad was a World War II veteran. He enlisted in the Army on April 15, 1942 and promptly assigned to then what was Known as the "Army Air Corps." He was honorably discharged on Nov 17th 1945. Dad was employed by the Department of the Air Force, Kelly Air Force base, and retired after 36 years of devoted Federal Service in Jan 1978. His last position was as a Supervisor in the Hydro Mechanical Fuel Control Repair Division. Dad was preceded by his loving wife of 62 years Elvira Vera. Preceded also by: Parents Juan & Herminia Ramirez, Brothers Robert, Johnny and infant Sarah Ramirez. He is survived by his Sons, Arthur John Alice and Richard Anthony Ramirez. Five Grandchildren; Ronald Rene Lauren, Arthur Anthony Ann, Michael Thomas Michelle, Brian Allan Elizabeth, and Richard Anthony Ramirez II and Kendall Marx. He is also survived by Seven Great Grandchildren; Ryan Anthony, Alyssa Ann, Nicolas Anthony, Jacob Michael, Anthony Thomas, Hayden Alexander, Hunter Reed and in October Logan Anthony Ramirez. To cherish his memory and exemplary faithful Christian life are his Sister, Alicia Ybarra, Sisters-in- Laws, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and numerous friends. SERVICES The family will receive friends from 6-8:00PM on Tuesday, September 25, 2012 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. A Holy Rosary will be recited at 7:00PM. A Mass of the resurrection will be celebrated at St. Luke's Catholic Church on Wednesday, September 26, 2012 at 9:30AM. Serving as pallbearers will be Ronald, Arthur, Michael, Brian, Richard and John Michael Ramirez. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to VITAS Hospice Care Services for their excellent care provided.
