Arturo V. Perez February 10, 1937 – March 9, 2016 Arturo V. Perez was called home to be with his heavenly father on March 9, 2016. He was one of twelve children born to Mateo C. Perez and Guadalupe V. Perez. He was born on February 10, 1937 in San Antonio, Texas. Those who knew Arturo Perez will always remember him for his devotion to his family, strong work ethic, brilliant mind, and entrepreneurial spirit. In 1956, he married Micaela who blessed him with five children. Over the next three decades Arturo Perez worked his way up at Kelly Air Force Base and retired as a senior engineer analyst. In fact, he was so highly respected for his engineering expertise that he was sought after as a consultant long after he retired. He also went on to actualize his dream of operating his own family business, Arturo's Barbacoa. From here Arturo and wife, Micaela, took great pride in serving up some of the finest barbacoa to San Antonio residents. Left to cherish his memory are Micaela Perez, his devoted wife of nearly 60 years and their children, Alma Dietz spouse, Richard Dietz, Norma Gonzales spouse, Tony Gonzalez, Arthur Perez II, Velma Kling spouse, David Kling, and Valerie Reavis spouse, Kevin Reavis. Arturo Perez was the grandfather of twelve grandchildren, Christina Jimenez, Gabriella Pearson spouse, Jimmie, Arthur Perez III, Andria Arredondo spouse, Anthony, Nicolas Gonzales, Richard Arthur Dietz, Robert Dietz, David Ryan Kling spouse, Audra, Austin Kling, Allison Munoz, Beau Munoz, and Carson Reavis. Arturo Perez also had twelve great-grandchildren, Andrew Dietz, Madison Dietz, Natalie Dietz, Richard Timothy Dietz, Alyssa Arredondo, Ava Arredondo, Caleb Arredondo, Augustine Jimenez, Gustavo Jimenez, Julian Jimenez, Ryann Pearson, and Kylie Kling. Arturo Perez is survived by his sisters, Virginia, Eloisa, Angelina, Martha, Rachel, and is preceded in death by his parents, Mateo C. Perez and Guadalupe V. Perez; brother Mateo Jr. and sisters, Genevieve, Dolores, Florinda, Alice, and Petra. He was a great man who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Visitation will begin on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Visitation will continue on Monday, March 14, 2016 at 8:00 a.m. with a funeral mass to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
