DeLaine Sietz, 92, of Fair Oaks Ranch, TX, passed peacefully in the early morning of January 11th 2024. At home, surrounded by the love and comfort of her husband and 4 children, our truest angel on earth, gently drifted off to sleep to join Jesus in eternal peace. DeLaine was born on Christmas Day, December 25, 1932 to Albert Ray and Gladys Winchester Waterman in McClure, Illinois. She was the middle child next to siblings Arthur Ray “Bud” Waterman and LaVerne Waterman Mosby. In the summer of 1949 while accompanying a few girlfriends to the local Rexall DeLaine laid eyes on the most handsome young man and told her friends “I’m going to marry that one!” And in the Winter of 1953, she did exactly that. On February 27th, 1953 Ronald Leo Sietz and DeLaine Astella Waterman were pronounced man and wife in a picturesque white Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. In Fall of 54’ on October 28th, they welcomed their first-born daughter Terri Layne. Then two short years later, on November 7th, 1956 was the birth of their second daughter Karen Rene, and following 5 years after in the Summer of 61’ they welcomed their third daughter, Sheila Marie into the world on August, 23rd. Blessed in overabundance with 3 beautiful baby girls, Ronald and DeLaine received their most special blessing in the birth of their son, Ronald Shannon Sietz, Born June 9th, 1969. Through raising Shannon, DeLaine became an active contributor to the Special Olympics organization where Shannon participated in his many athletic sports teams. She would attend every game, rain or shine, to watch Shannon play. The joy of watching him score a goal, make a basket, or win a game and do his “happy dances” brought her so much joy and laughter that it became contagious and would radiate throughout the crowd.It was that same immense excitement and her enthusiastic love that she carried on throughout her life. When she became a grandmother or “Nanny” as she was called, the love and endearment for her children poured over into their children’s lives as well. “We could always count on Nanny.” She would attend every birthday, school play, sports event, graduation, wedding and so many more, since the day we were born. And of course, in typical “DeLaine Fashion” you could always count on her to be enthusiastically cheering everyone on. She sure did love her Grandchildren, and her newest addition her great Grandson. DeLaine had the most beautiful and vibrant soul. Blessed were those whom were lucky enough to experience her radiate the most incredible light of happiness, while her smile and laugh would gift the most wonderful feeling of warmth and love to all those around her. Those cherished memories and moments will forever live on in our hearts. She was a loving wife of 72 years, an incredible mother and later went on to be an extraordinary Nanny and Great Nanny. Surviving Delaine are her husband Ronald, her son Shannon, her daughter Terri, and her son Sergei. Her daughter Karen and her husband Ed, their two children Eddie, and Jamie. Jamie’s husband Austin, and their son Rhett. Her daughter Sheila, her husband Mike, and their three children Tanner, Megan, and Colton. Also surviving her sister-in-law and best friend Shirley Waterman, as well as her many nieces, nephews, and their children. DeLaine was preceded in death by her mother Gladys, father Ray, brother Bud, sister Laverne, and her grandson Michael Tanner.
