Obituary for Beatrice Z. Garza Beatrice Z. Garza, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, and friend, went to be with the Lord on July 26, 2026, at the age of 66. To all who knew her, Beatrice was a steady source of love, kindness, and quiet strength. Born on January 15, 1960, in San Antonio, Texas, Beatrice was the daughter of Jose A. Zertuche and Aurora Garcia Zertuche, who precede her in death. Raised in a large and close knit family, she learned early the value of loyalty, compassion, and caring for one another — lessons she carried with her throughout her life and passed on to everyone blessed to be part of her world. Beatrice is survived by her husband, Leonel Garza, and her son, Andres Cardenas IV. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren — Alexis Cardenas, Andy Cardenas V, Nathan Cardenas, and Joshua Cardenas — and her adored great grandchildren Lyan Gomez, Xavien Gomez, and Julian Gomez, each of whom brought her immense joy. She is also survived by her siblings Manuel Zertuche (Diane), Joe Zertuche (Olga), Teresa Padron (Eddie), Elena Gomez, Lupe Corrales, Rodrigo Zertuche, Arturo Zertuche (Katy), Sandra Flores (Albert), Rachel Zertuche, and Alex Zertuche (Yvonne), along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. Beatrice lived a life rooted in faith and family. She expressed her love through her actions — in the way she cared for others, in her gentle guidance, and in the warmth she brought to every gathering. Her compassion, generosity, and unwavering devotion were not just qualities she possessed; they were gifts she shared freely. Though Beatrice is no longer with us, her example endures. Her love will continue to guide her family, and her memory will remain a source of comfort and inspiration to all who knew her. Her absence leaves a space that only Christ can fill, but her spirit will continue to live on in the lives she touched. She will be deeply and lovingly missed. Service Details Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with a Service beginning at 6:00 PM. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, August 7, 2026, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South at 10:00 AM. Morning visitation will begin at 8:30 AM prior to the service. Beatrice will be laid to rest at Mission Burial Park South.
