Tributes

Beatrice (Treviño) Hernandez went to be with the Lord on December 25, 2023. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her daughters and grandchildren. Known by family and friends as "Bea" or "Bea Bea" Beatrice was born on June 3, 1931 in San Antonio, Texas and was married to Mercedes Hernandez, Jr. in 1948 with whom she shared a long and loving marriage of 64 years until his passing in 2014. Together, they raised a loving family of three daughters - Gloria, Cheryl and Eileen - whom they instilled the importance of family and putting God first. Mercedes and Beatrice ("Mercy" and "Bea-Bea" as they were affectionately known) were extremely generous and supportive of their family and friends and volunteered at their local church. They enjoyed spending time with family above all else, hosting large family gatherings and providing a family vacation property at Fort Clark Springs in Brackettville, Texas, where they helped to create some of the fondest memories for their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Beatrice retired after 24 years of employment from Harlandale ISD and enjoyed her retirement traveling and going country and western dancing with her beloved husband. After becoming a widow, Beatrice lived independently in her home and spent most of her time reading her Bible and enjoying visits from family and friends. She was especially joyful when visited by her grandchildren and great-•grandchildren, whom she affectionately called "cielito lindo." Beatrice will be remembered as a loving and generous mother, grandmother and great- grandmother. We will miss her endearing hugs and kisses and enduring love and support. While her family mourns her passing, we are comforted in knowing that she is now reunited with her beloved husband in eternal life. Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband Mercedes Hernandez, Jr. and parents Pedro and Eulalia Treviño. She is survived by her three daughters Gloria Hernandez, Cheryl Rodriguez, and Eileen Camarillo (William); seven grandchildren Julian Casso (Dona), Lori Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez (Linda), Liza Camarillo Denman (Ryan), Patrick Hernandez (Michelle), Thomas Rodriguez and William Camarillo (Michelle); twelve great-•grandchildren Reanna Rodriguez, Joseph Rodriguez, Jr., Layla Gonzales, Thomas Rodriguez, Jr., Emma Casso, Lauren Gonzales, Benjamin Rodriguez, Sophia Rodriguez, Camila Camarillo, Qynn Hernandez, Andrés De Leon and Parker Hernandez; and siblings Guadalupe Treviño (Janie), George Treviño (Dorothy), Mary Silva (Homer) and Robert Treviño (Rita).
