It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Bertha Emma Krewson. She passed peacefully on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, at the age of 87. Though we grieve her loss, we take comfort in knowing that she is now with her Lord and Savior in heaven. Bertha was born on October 25, 1935, in San Antonio, Texas to Estella and Emilio Ramirez. She became an outstanding mother to her children, Erik and Kimberly, and instilled the values of faith, love, and kindness in them. Her influence on their lives will be felt for generations to come. As a grandmother, Bertha was a constant source of joy and love to her grandchildren, Misty, Sean, Alyssa, and Erica. She was always ready with a warm hug, a listening ear, and homemade banana nut bread. She delighted in spending time with them, whether it was playing dominoes or simply sitting on the couch and talking. Bertha was also a true friend to many. She had a gift for making others feel valued and loved. Her friendships were testaments to her loyalty, kindness, and generosity. Above all, Bertha was a woman of deep faith, and her life was a shining example of Christ’s love. Bertha is preceded in death by her parents Estella and Emilio Ramirez; siblings Emilio, Simona, and Fred; niece Marlene, nephews Arthur and Roland. She is survived by her children, Erik (Melissa) and Kimberly; grandchildren Misty, Sean, Alyssa, and Erica; great-grandchildren Venus and Stormie; nieces Rosalie, Darlene, Stella Jean, and Yvette; nephew Brian, and countless other family members and friends who loved her deeply. Bertha was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, and her life was a testament to her faith. Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she lived it out in all she did. She was known for her kindness, compassion, and generosity, always putting others before herself. She had a warm smile and a loving heart, and her presence in the lives of those who knew her will be greatly missed. The family wishes to express their love and appreciation to Andrea Carrion for taking special care of Bertha. Though we mourn the loss of our dear mother, we take comfort in the promise of John 11:25-26, where Jesus said, "I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die." We know that Bertha is now in the presence of our Lord and Savior, experiencing the fullness of joy and peace. We will miss her greatly, but we rejoice in the knowledge that we will one day be reunited with her in heaven. Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, at 9:30 A.M., followed by an 11:00 A.M. Funeral Service at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
