Betty Joyce Kneppler Dickson, surrounded by family, peacefully passed away at Gruene Senior Living in New Braunfels, Texas, on April 28, 2026. She was born January 17, 1930, in Houston, Texas, to Minnie Pearl Poole and John Louis Kneppler. She was happily married for sixty years to Charles Wynn Dickson III. Betty cherished her life as an Air Force wife, traveling the world with her husband and her family. During those years, she volunteered in hospitals in many of the places they lived, including Arizona, Virginia, Illinois and Germany. She had a deep love of cooking, which she shared with her family - especially during the holidays. Betty was also an avid sports fan who especially enjoyed following and attending her grandchildren’s games. She loved going to their dance recitals, little league games and later attending her grandson’s college games and NFL games. The staff at Gruene Senior Living always made sure her tv was set so she could watch and cheer him on, often inviting others to join her. As her great grandchildren began playing sports, their stories and videos brought her great joy. Although her memory began to fade due to Alzheimer’s, she never failed to greet others with a warm smile. Betty was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Denise and brothers, John L Kneppler, Jr and Robert B Kneppler. She is survived by her daughters, Sandra L Dickson Bonney (husband Pat) and Danette Dickson Beasley (husband Mike). Also, by her 5 grandchildren, Brett Bonney and Jenifer Bonney Bell (husband Sean), Shane Beasley, Shayelynn Beasley Binnion (husband Ben), and Cole Beasley (wife Kyrstin); and her 13 great grandchildren, Keaton Bell, Harper Bell, Saylor Bell, Gatlin Bell, Hardin Bell, Paxstyn Binnion, Ryder Binnion, Hadleigh Binnion, Sutton Binnion, Ace Beasley, Everett Beasley, Jovie Beasley and Brewer Beasley; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Gruene Senior Living Assisted and Memory Care for their care and devotion, and to Hope Hospice for their compassionate support during her final days. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered as our “Mom”. We take comfort in knowing she is at peace. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name to either the Alzeimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society will be appreciated.
