FLICKINGER Betty L. Flickinger, born on November 21, 1926 in San Antonio, TX to Henry Fredrick Lipp and Mary Demetra Stanfield, went to be with the Lord on May 7, 2007, here in San Antonio. An active member of Northside Church of Christ, Betty loved game days, game nights and excursions with North Stars church friends, visitations with the Life Group, attending Bible Study classes, and giving support to Medina Childrens Home and Christian Hope Resource Center. Her friends in the North Star Mall Walkers group could always rely on seeing her every Thursday for the last 20 years to learn from informative guest speakers and to stroll around the mall. Born into a military family and marrying into the military lifestyle fed Bettys sense of adventure and made it possible to travel extensively throughout her life with family and friends across the U.S. and Europe. During her 24 year civil service career, assignments at Randolph and Kelly AFBs ranged from key punch operator to Supply Systems Analyst in DS Country to the IG Office in Material Mgt. Betty shared wonderful experiences and made many life-long friendships along the way. Her warm and caring personality and love of life touched everyone she met. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 33 years, Richard L. Flickinger. Betty is survived by her daughters, Lynn Hartman and husband, Ken of San Antonio and Tammy Brummett and husband, Johnny of Clinton, TN; sons, Neal Turner and wife, Wandean of Driftwood, TX, Fred Flickinger and wife, Eileen of San Antonio, Raymond Flickinger and wife, Audrey of Murfreesboro, TN and Ricky Flickinger of York, PA; 15 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; her extended family and many close friends. SERVICES Visitation will be held on Friday-May 11, 2007 from 7:00PM until 9:00PM at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Graveside Services and Interment will be on Saturday-May 12, 2007 at 10:00AM at Mission Burial Park South, 1700 SE Military Drive, San Antonio, TX 78214, with Rev. David Allen officiating.
