Billy Frank Ivy, of China Grove, Texas, went to be with our Lord and Savior on January 25, 2022 at the age of 91. Bill, Coach Ivy or Papa as he was fondly known was born in Frost, Texas on November 15, 1930 to John Marvin and Mabel M. Land Ivy. Bill is proceeded in death by his parents, brother John Milton Ivy and grandsons Brandon James Biesenbach and Nathan Luis Garza. Bill was raised in Hubbard Texas and went on to graduate Hillsboro Jr College. After graduating he enlisted in the Air Force and served four years during the Korean War. After an honorable discharge he moved to San Antonio, Texas where he attended Trinity University and received his Masters of Education. While attending Riverside Baptist Church he met the love of his life Fannie Raye Stallard and went on to marry her in 1957, making her Fannie Raye Ivy. Bill and Fannie Raye made Riverside Baptist their home church and is where they raised their 3 daughters. The couple later moved their church membership to First Baptist Church San Antonio. Bill’s Masters of Education would take him to Harlandale Independent School District in San Antonio. While working for the district he was a football coach, vice principal and later opened Kingsborough Middle School as their principal where he finished out his career of 34 years before retiring. Left to cherish his memories are his beloved wife of 64 years, Fannie Raye Ivy; daughters Karen Ivy Ridout (Tony), Cindy Ivy Davis (Jeff), Rene Ivy Garza (Luis); 6 grandchildren, Ellis Ridout, Shelby Ridout, Dustin Michalak, Bryan Michalak, Briana Garza, Derek Garza; 7 great grandchildren, Otto, William, Addison, Rylan, Kennedy, Wilder and Lily; niece Annette Ivy, nephew Joel Ivy and by a host of other relatives and very special friends. The family will receive friends from 5:00p.m. – 7:00p.m., Monday, January 31,2022, at Mission Park Funeral Chapels – South (1700 S. E. Military, San Antonio, TX 78214) Funeral Services will be held at 11:00a.m., Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at First Baptist Church San Antonio (515 McCullough Ave., San Antonio, Texas 78215).
