Our beloved daughter, sister, wife, and mother, Brenda Jacqueline Stone born February 12th, 1971 in San Antonio went to Heaven to be with our Lord on January 27th, 2023 surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Anthony Stone, daughter Jacqueline Anastasia, son Hunter Alexander (fiancée Samantha Heinemeyer), Parents, Theresa and Ronald Pawelek, father Gus Salazar, sister Marie E. Salazar (fiancé John Sarro), grandmother(s) Maria V. Nunez and Anna Marie Pawelek. Uncles Carlos V. Nunez, Joe Salazar, Roger Salazar (Ernestine), Aunts Isabel Nunez, Florencia Trub (Larry), Sharon Walker (Richard), Delia Overholt, many loving cousins and her closest friends Kelly, Lorraine, Chris and her beloved Maltipoo Leah. Brenda was talented and blessed with a beautiful voice and played many instruments with a focus on the flute and piccolo. While in high school, she was in the Texas All-star SeaWorld Marching Band, and traveled with the band promoting Sea World of Texas San Antonio. Brenda won many accolades as an accomplished vocalist and musician throughout high school and college. She was recognized as an "Outstanding Woman" in appreciation of her contribution to Women's History Month at Palo Alto College along with many academic achievement awards. She was also in the Southwest Texas State Bobcat Marching Band and Performance Choir. One of her fondest memories was performing at the Crystal Cathedral in Garden Grove, California. Brenda received an Associate of Arts from Palo Alto College, a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Master of Arts in Education from Our Lady of the Lake University. During her time at OLLU, Brenda was Lead Alto for the San Antonio Symphony Master Singers. She taught at Gillette Elementary School, St. John Bosco, and Holy Name Catholic Schools. Brenda's favorite thing to do was spending time with her family, taking care of her grandmother, singing and playing her flute, Maria and spending time with her pets, Leah, Cookie and Chocolate. Her charismatic personality and spirit inspired all those around her. She was loving, kind, funny, caring and most of all, self-less. She was like a sister to her friends and many cousins. Whether it was helping with the family business, taking care of her grandmother or giving to anyone in need, Brenda was always there to lend a helping hand to others. Her sense of humor kept us uplifted and laughing. What she wanted most out of life was love, health, peace, holiness, and most importantly family. Money wasn't important to her, and would say "You have it, spend it, and nothing is left." Growing up, community service was a big part of Brenda's life, and she dedicated many years of service by volunteering to teach religious education classes in her home parish St. Margaret Mary's. Years later when her daughter Jacqueline attended St. Margaret Mary School she continued to volunteer by assisting the music director playing the flute and singing with the choir. Her pride and joy were her family, especially her daughter Jacqueline and son Hunter. A special heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff at Downtown Baptist Hospital and to all those who kept Brenda and our family in prayers.
