It is with great sadness that the family of Carl Hubert Dominguez announces his passing on Saturday, March 17, 2018, at the age of 89 years. Carl was born on May 25, 1928 in San Antonio, Texas to Hubert Dominguez and Beatrice McDonald Dominguez. From his father, Carl learned the intricate trade of letterpress printing and the work ethic of an entrepreneur. After serving in the US Army, Carl joined his father’s business, Superior Printing Services. In 1963, Carl and his wife, Grace, started their own business, Carl Printing Company, a business that became Carl’s lifelong career. Carl was always mechanically inclined—from a Chandler & Price to a carburetor, he could hear/smell/see a problem and instantly have a solution. His passion and expertise were indisputable, and for decades, he taught generations of printers who carry on his legacy and entrepreneurial spirit. Carl’s greatest joy was being around his wife and family, delivering the corniest (grand)dad jokes. Corniness aside, he showed them how to love fiercely, love unconditionally, and live fully. While his strength was a defining feature, there was a softness in his eyes and in his demeanor that made him loved by those who crossed his path. Throughout his life, he had a strong sense of adventure when he embarked on cross-country roadtrips in his RV with Grace by his side. Carl will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 62 years, Grace Celis Dominguez; his children, Karla Escalera, Karl Dominguez, Karolynn Bolding and Kathryn Escalera; his 11 grandchildren; and his 10 great-grandchildren. Viewing for Family and Friends Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive San Antonio, Texas 78230 Rosary and Funeral Mass will be celebrated in memory of Carl on Tuesday, April 3rd at 9:30 AM, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 350 Sutton Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228. A Celebration of Life will follow the Mass on Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Schoenstatt Shrine, 17071 Low Road, Helotes, Texas 78023. Interment with Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, April 4th at 11:15 AM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd., San Antonio TX 78209
