Carla Ann Honesto Rodriguez A loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend was born in San Antonio, Texas on November 21st, 1965 to her loving parents Henry Faz Honesto and Herlinda Honesto. She is the second of three children. She attended Morrill Elementary, Harlandale Middle school and soon after Harlandale High School Class of 84 "The pride of the south side, once an Indian, always an Indian." While attending school she was also a Professional Folklorico dancer. After graduation she worked for a renowned Orthopedic Surgeon for 18 years. She had a calling and went back to obtain her Bachelors degree and become a bilingual teacher. She was a proud first generation college graduate from UTSA. Her teaching career began at J.T Brackenridge Elementary School in SAID. She ultimately wanted to come back home and give back to her community to teach at Morrill elementary in Harlandale ISD. She loved her students and would go above and beyond for them long after the bell rang. Carla was an avid traveler and often loved to include others in her travels. She was a beloved friend to many and stayed in contact with her fellow Harlandale Alumni. A cherished Godmother and oftentimes an ear for any one needing a coffee with a good conversation to follow. 80's music was her jam and she was an avid concert lover. She found joy in traveling to those concerts and there was always a story to tell. Carla will be missed by her loving husband of 37 years, Raymond O. Rodriguez; her loving son Stephen Ray Rodriguez (Desirae Vidales Rodriguez); grandson Emilio Ray Rodriguez; Siblings Enrique "Rick" Honesto (Shirley Cirlos Honesto); and sister Sandra "Sandy" A. Honesto Montano (Joe V. Rodriguez); nieces Desiree A. Honesto, Kailey R. Montano, Kaiden Montano, Shelby Beltran and nephew Nicholas Honesto; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. Thank you to all the amazing staff at Texas Oncology- San Antonio and NEXT Oncology. The kind nurses and her beloved Doctors who supported her on her journey. The family would also like to thank her Harlandale Highschool Class of 84 for their continued support. As well as her Morrill Tiger family, she truly "felt the love of her peeps."
