Carlos J. Contreras, Jr. passed away on March 22, 2023, after a long illness with Parkinson’s Disease. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, Carmen S. Contreras. They are together again! He lived a full life of 89 years, born on December 26, 1933. He was a proud veteran, serving in Korea from 1956 to 1958, then serving 27 years with the Texas Employment Commission and ultimately served as the Regional Director of the San Antonio Region. Carlos was blessed with a large loving family, 5 children and spouses, 11 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren; Linda C. Garza, spouse Ernesto; Carlos J. Contreras, III, spouse Adriana; Paulo Andres Contreras, spouse Joel; Carla L. Contreras, spouse Rebecca; and Andrea C. Hansford, spouse Christopher. Grandchildren included Cassandra Garza, Ernesto Jaime Garza (Spouse, Emily), Miguel A. Contreras, Daniel A. Contreras, Cristian L. Contreras, Lauren E. Barrett, CJ Hansford, Tristian G. Contreras, Logan X. Contreras, Bruce J. Contreras, Chris N. Contreras. Great Grandchildren include Paxson Hope and Luca Garza. Carlos will be remembered for his kindness, his love of family, dedication to his work and community, and especially days at Lake Travis. His legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, who will carry on his memory and his values. Carlos helped many family members through his craftsmanship of creating, building and repairing homes, cars, decks, etc. He had a big heart when it came to family and helping others. Carlos made sure his children knew how proud he was of them, grateful to those who loved him and spoiled his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Carlos died peacefully with his loving family members surrounding him. We will celebrate Carlos on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Mission Park North Dominion, Tipps Chapel, located at 20900 IH 10W, San Antonio, TX.
