Carol Casas DeLaGarza was received into the loving hands of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, October 17, 2022. She was a 9th generation Texan born 60 years ago to Francisco Cardenas Casas, II and Minnie Villareal Casas in San Antonio, Texas. Carol was a born again Christian and served the Lord in many areas in her life, but the ministry nearest to her heart was Children’s Ministry. For 32 years, she served as a Sunday School teacher and impacted hundreds of children that attended her classroom. Her spirit of excellence for the Lord led her to start multiple programs that brought the love of Christ to children. She believed in elevating Bible lessons through writing a comprehensive curriculum, creating visual aids, activity sheets, and sewing costumes to bring more glory to God’s Word. Among the many gifts the Lord gave her was the love for paper crafts. Through her numerous cards, paper flowers, and decorations she blessed all those around her. She was also an avid prayer warrior and loved to study God’s Word while hosting prayer meetings and Bible studies. Carol also had an incredible memory and was a devout reader of God’s Word. She would light up a room by recalling childhood stories, experiences, and reciting scripture. At home, Carol was the heart of her family. With her vibrant personality, she loved to spend time with her husband and children through movie nights, Bible trivia, and board games. Her favorite past time with her family was finding a new movie or show to marathon, even if it meant going to bed late. Carol is survived by her husband of 35 years, David DeLaGarza, and their two children, Caroline Rose DeLaGarza and David Jonathan DeLaGarza, II. As well as her siblings, Cyndi Uribe (Tony), Rose Treviño (Matthew), and Francisco Casas, III (Linda). A Celebration of Life will be held to share memories and pay tribute to Carol on Wednesday, October 26, 2022 with a public viewing at 5:00 p.m. and a service at 6:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South on Southeast Military Drive. Procession from Mission Park Funeral Chapels South on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Graveside to follow at San Jose Burial Park.
