Catherine (Cathy) Marie Dennis, 64, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, niece, aunt, cousin, friend, passed away into God’s Loving Embrace on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. She was surrounded by her family whose love lifted her spirit after a valiant fight against cancer. Cathy was born on August 5, 1959, in San Antonio, Texas to the late John Anton and Antoinette Moczygemba (Dugi). She married Carl Earl Dennis on November 20, 1976, and was blessed with 31 years of marriage until Carl’s passing on November 2, 2008. Cathy lived an extraordinary life full of love and adventure. After marrying Carl, they were blessed to travel throughout his time in the Army and later as a Federal Civil Service employee and even residing overseas in Europe in the early 2000’s. Cathy dearly loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved hosting family gatherings and cooking carefully planned meals. Cathy enjoyed caring for others and making new friends anywhere she went. She especially loved her time working at Snoga’s BBQ & Catering for many years. She relished the company of the many coworkers and customers who became lifelong friends. Cathy showed her love by gift giving and took much care creating holiday themed presents. She also enjoyed time gardening and going to the family farm. Cathy attended St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church for much of her life. Cathy is survived by her son, Christopher Dennis (Leslee); daughter, Amy Lewis (Maverick); grandchildren, Emma and Gavin Lewis; sister, Laura Blandford (Andrew); along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Cathy was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, her parents, John and Antoinette Moczygemba and siblings, Patrick, Patricia Ann and Diana Moczygemba. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2024, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at Dellcrest Funeral Home 2023 W.W. White Road, San Antonio, Texas. Rosary will be at 7:00 PM. A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2024, at 12:00 PM at St. Margaret Mary’s Catholic Church 1314 Fair Avenue, San Antonio, Texas. Interment will follow at 1:30 PM at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Road, San Antonio, Texas.
