In Loving Memory of Cecilia F. Dominguez Cecilia F. Dominguez, age 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 22, surrounded by love. She was a woman of deep kindness, quick wit, and unwavering strength, whose life was marked by devotion to her family and a strong, enduring faith. Cecilia was born on November 22, 1940, in Laredo, Texas. She later attended Edgewood High School, where she graduated in 1959. During her time there, she was actively involved in school life—serving as Secretary in Senior Advisory, participating in the Speech Club, and representing youth perspectives as a member of a teen panel featured in the San Antonio Express-News. Even at a young age, Cecilia demonstrated the confidence, thoughtfulness, and strong voice that would define her throughout her life. Cecilia was known for her remarkable work ethic and the many sacrifices she made to care for those she loved. She dedicated many years of service working in a doctor’s office downtown, where she built lasting relationships, offered comfort to those around her, and took great pride in her work before retiring. Her presence brought warmth and reassurance to all who had the privilege of knowing her. Beyond her work, Cecilia found joy in life’s simple blessings—sharing stories, offering guidance, and spending time with her family. She had a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and loved, often through her thoughtful words, gentle humor, and steadfast support. She is survived by her beloved brothers, Genaro and Oscar Dominguez, along with many nieces and nephews who will forever cherish the lessons she instilled in them. Ceci taught by example—reminding all who knew her to maintain a strong relationship with God, no matter what life may bring. Her faith was not only something she spoke of, but something she lived daily with grace and humility. She is preceded in death by her father, Genaro L. Dominguez; her mother, Mary Dominguez; her sister, Guadalupe Dominguez; and her sister-in-law, Mary Jane Dominguez. While her passing brings deep sorrow, her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited in heaven with her loved ones and dear friends, embraced in eternal peace. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Rachel and her compassionate staff at Alternative Senior Care Center, Crest Palliative Care, and Dr. Maria Arbelaez and her team with UT Health for the exceptional care, kindness, and dignity they provided to Ceci during her final days. Their support and dedication brought comfort not only to Cecilia, but to all who loved her. Cecilia’s legacy of love, faith, resilience, and quiet strength will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. The memories she created and the love she gave so freely will continue to guide and comfort her family for generations to come. Rest in peace, Ceci. You will always be with us, in our hearts and in all the ways you taught us to live and love. Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, with a Rosary at 6:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Funeral Mass will be on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 10:00am at St. Luke's Catholic Church, with entombment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2 Mausoleum.
