Cheryl Ann Morrisey, 58, of Elmendorf, Texas passed away on Friday December 16, 2016 after a courageous year and a half battling cancer. Daughter of late Billie Joe and surviving mother, Frankie Campbell of San Antonio, TX. Devoted wife of 39 years to Robert Alan Morrisey. Adoring mother of Nicholas Alden (wife Rachael) of San Antonio TX and Kara Marie of Austin TX. Sister to Terry Pfeil of Floresville TX (husband Paul, son Trey (wife Lacey) Kathy Cooper of Westford, MA (husband Scott, son Gregory (wife Autumn, son William) daughters, Kelliann and Katalinn) and Cindy Curran of Bolton, MA (husband John, daughters, Alyssa and Shauna). Late granddaughter of Bessie (Zidek) and Joseph Henry Smith of Floresville TX and Lillie Mae (Garner) and Alden Stanley Campbell of Floresville TX, along with many surviving aunts, uncles and cousins. Cheryl especially enjoyed motherhood and her role as a wife caring for her husband, along with enriching so many children’s lives as a substitute teacher. Cheryl was a teacher’s assistant at Cyndi Taylor Krier Juvenile Correctional Treatment Center, swim teacher and coach at many pools across San Antonio and Floresville TX. Cheryl held numerous volunteer positions with the East Central Independent School District and spent many years as a beautician for rest homes in the San Antonio TX area. At a very young age, Cheryl was drawn into the Christian faith and baptized at Highland Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio TX. Cheryl’s hobbies included cross stitch, gardening, jewelry making, listening to Dr. Laura, cooking, being a member of San Antonio Herb Society, participating in activates at S.P.J.S.T (Slovanska Podporujici Jednota Statu Texas) Lodge 107 and Lodge 133, assisting with her daughters polkateers dance classes at Herman Sons, San Antonio (Grand Lodge of the Order of the Sons of Hermann in the State of Texas) in San Antonio and caring for her dogs. Cheryl was an inspiration and a caring listener to anyone in need even when she was in pain. Her loving heart and warm smile will be missed by all that had a chance to know her. She was cared for by the wonderful staff at the Cancer Treatment and Research Center as well as University Hospital through her journey. The family wishes to thank everyone that assisted with her care and struggle this past year. Cheryl will be missed by many but will be in everyone’s heart. A memorial service in celebration of Cheryl’s life will be held at Mission Park South funeral home on Friday December 30, 2016 at 3:00pm with a visitation following. 1700 S.E.
