Clemente Rocha Jr., 83, and Eva R. Rocha, 83, inseparable in life and refusing to be apart from each other in death, both went into the arms of our Lord on September 7, 2018. Clemente was born on Nov. 21, 1934, to Clemente and Adelina Rocha in Waring, Texas; one of five children. Eva was born Aug. 22, 1934, to Antonio Ramos and Santos Lopez Ramos in Kerrville, Texas; one of 15. To say their life was full of adventure would be an understatement. After high school, Clemente joined the U.S. Navy and served four adventurous years on the U.S.S. New Jersey and traveled between New York City to the Mediterranean. Clemente’s military career would continue in the U.S. Army reserve, which he would retire as a Master Sergeant after 21 total years of military service. Eva Rocha would go on to work not only for herself, but for then start-ups called James Avery, and also worked for another small business called H-E-B; both of which started in Kerrville, Texas. But their greatest adventure in life, and in love, would begin on June 20, 1959, when they married. During that time, Clemente worked as a cartographer with the Defense Mapping Agency for the Department of Defense, finally retiring after 32 years as a project director. Eva was a homemaker and helped raise their four children. Eva was a mother who imparted faith, love, respect to everyone and strength to all her children. Eva was an excellent cook, baker, a gracious host to anyone who visited their home. Most importantly, Eva was a mom and a friend to everyone she met, she truly welcomed everyone with open arms. Clemente is proceeded in death by his parents, as well as his brother and sisters, Samuel Rocha, Maria Lopez, Anita Valenciano and a sister who passed away at a young age. Eva is proceeded in death by her parents, as well as her brothers and sisters; Viviano Ramos, Dario Ramos, Janie Garcia, Georgina Valadez, Jose Ramos, Victor Ramos and two brothers and one sister who passed away at a young age. Both Clemente and Eva are survived by their children, son Steve Rocha and his wife Leticia; daughter Maria Miller; son Clemente Rocha III and his wife Yvette; son Michael Rocha and his wife Ophelia; eight grandchildren, Leslie Hernandez; Christopher Michael Gutierrez; Steve Rocha II; Nathaniel Miller; Elizabeth Miller; Cassandra Rocha; Michel Rocha II and Crystal Rocha. They were also blessed to have four wonderful great-grandchildren; Gabriel Hernandez, Antonio Hernandez, Gavin Gutierrez, and Atlas Miller. Clemente is also survived by his sister, Irene Nieto; and Eva is survived by her brothers and sisters, Martha Rodriguez, Simon Ramos, Isabel Barron, Tony Ramos, and Richard Ramos. A celebration of their life will include a visitation beginning at 5 p.m., and a Rosary will be held at 7 p.m., Sept. 20, 2018, and Mission Park North, 3401 Cherry Ridge. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Sept. 21, 2018 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church, 4603 Manitou Drive. Interment will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with military honors.
