Connie Kruczek, age 94, was welcomed into the arms of her Savior on August 25, 2016. She was a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas. Born to Charles and Josephine Dwyer, she attended St. Anthony's school and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Connie had a passion for music and entertainment and after studying in New York City, became a professional singer and recorded several albums. She was very active in the USO during World War II and worked as a secretary at Randolph Air Force Base where she met the love of her life, Edward Kruczek. They married shortly after the war and to that union they had three children: Kenneth, Michael and Kay. Connie was a faithful Catholic and devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed growing her roses, Fiesta parades, and loved studying the stars, constellations and far-off galaxies. She was a fierce champion of justice and civil rights. She lived her life with values of selfless service to others, personal responsibility, and respect for the dignity of every human being. She lived a life of constant love, joy and devotion to God, country and family. Connie was a good and faithful servant and will be welcomed into the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. She will be greatly missed by all who were privileged enough to know her. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Josephine Dwyer and her husband of 56 years, Edward Kruczek. Connie is survived by her children: Dr. Kenneth Kruczek and wife Terry, Dr. Michael Kruczek and wife Roxanne, and devoted daughter Ms. Kay Kruczek McLeod; three grandchildren, Michelle Armstrong Steve, John Kruczek Cassie, and Kimberly Chavez Ricardo and four great grandchildren, Suren and Austin Armstrong and Campbell and Murphy Kruczek. The family wishes to thank Sr. Agnes Bochenek and Sister Gabriela Rog and the staff at St. Francis Nursing Home for their support and care of Connie during her final years. The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, August 31 2016 from 6-8:00 p.m. with a Rosary beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:30 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
