Cruz Jimenez III born in Sherman, Texas January 12, 1965, was surrounded by family and friends when he went to be with the Lord on March 27, 2025, at the age of 60. Cruz, an 18-year resident of the San Antonio, Texas community, graduated valedictorian in 1983 from Bruceville-Eddy High School in Eddy, Texas. He attended the University of Texas at Austin and held the prestigious honor of being a Lifetime Longhorn Member. In 1987, he graduated from McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas with an Associate of Applied Science degree after enrolling in the inaugural Physical Therapy Assistant Program. In 1992, he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Therapy from Texas State University (formerly Southwest Texas State University) in San Marcos, Texas. Cruz happily worked as a physical therapist for several years before deciding to become an entrepreneur. On October 1, 2004, he opened the doors to Jimenez Physical Therapy in San Antonio. Over the span of 20-plus years, he made a lasting impact on numerous patients with innovative and compassionate care. Alongside his work, Cruz always made sure there was plenty of time to play. While fond of all sports, Cruz’s passion throughout his life included running, golf, tennis, snowboarding and racquetball. Traveling was also on the top of his list with numerous trips to his favorite destination, Las Vegas, Nevada, where he enjoyed playing craps, roulette, and poker. He also attended a college football national championship game, a college basketball Final Four, World Series, Super Bowls and an Olympics. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 28 years Gracie Aguirre-Jimenez. The couple married on November 23, 1996, in Seguin, Texas. Also, he is survived by his children, son Cruz Jimenez IV, daughters Camila Jimenez and Gabriella Jimenez. Additional survivors include parents Cruz Jimenez Jr and Ella R. Jimenez (Eddy, Texas), brother Joe David Jimenez, sister Rebecca R. Jimenez-Poliquin, numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation will be held on Monday April 14 at 5 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North Cherry Ridge in San Antonio. A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. at the funeral home chapel. A funeral mass is set for Tuesday April 15 at 10 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church in San Antonio. A graveside service will follow at noon in the San Geronimo Cemetery in Seguin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Cruz to St. Matthew Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78230. Please keep in mind we will not be going in a funeral procession to San Geronimo Cemetery. We will all meet there between 12:00 noon and 12:30 p.m. Once all friends and family arrive we will begin the Committal Service.
