Dan Peyton Taylor, 59 of San Antonio Texas, passed away unexpectedly the morning of Saturday July 11, 2015. Dan was born in San Antonio, Texas on May 15, 1956 to Joann Peyton Taylor and Bobby Gene Taylor B.T.. He is survived by his parents and his daughter, Janea Danielle Taylor, Austin, Texas and son, Ernesto Peyton Taylor, Brownsville, Texas, and Ernesto's mother, Laurie Davila Taylor. He also leaves behind his siblings, Terri Taylor Rathmann and husband Dave Rathmann, Sue Taylor Kunz, Gay Layne Taylor, niece, Kendra Kunz Heredia and husband Robert 'Tito' Heredia, nephew, Dustin Taylor Kunz and family friend Lucy Elizondo.Dan in his early years was an avid golfer on the Robert E. Lee and Churchill High School golf team. He played professionally on the 'Dakotas Tour' and once shot a 29 on the back 9 at Lions Municipal Golf Course tying Ben Crenshaw's record. He also shot a 60 at the Brownsville Country Club breaking Crenshaw's record. Dan shrugged and said it should have been a 59. Dan in recent years made a career in the town car and limousine service. Whether in route to his everyday visit to the local convenience store or his stop at Bill Miller's for their famous Iced Tea, Dan impacted somebody and everybody knew him. The secret to his business was really just making his customers think, laugh and be comfortable. Dan made a living just being Dan.Dan was wicked smart and amazing with his mathematical techniques! He was a historian, storyteller, and 'cosmic comedian,' and loved westerns. Some of his favorite movies and quotes were from Clint Eastwood's 'Outlaw Josey Wales', John Wayne's 'Chisum' and many others he could quote lines from. Other favorite movies included Stripes, Caddyshack, Casablanca, and the Ten Commandments.Dan enjoyed life. He fished, hunted, cooked, played pool and poker, and made those around him laugh and enjoy life while doing it. He was skilled at everything he did. He was always 'all in'. Dan loved sports and was an avid University of Texas Longhorn fan in which his son, Ernesto attends.
