Daniel Rivera Espinoza went to be with the Lord on April 9, 2021, at the age of 72, in San Antonio, TX. He was born on March 15, 1949 in San Antonio, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jesus G. and Eloisa R. Espinoza. Left to cherish his memories is his wife of 49 years, Elisa L. “Alice” Espinoza; children Elizabeth E. Salinas (Homero), and Daniel L. Espinoza Jr. (Claudia); sisters Helen Gonzales (Gilbert), Anna Torres (Charlie); grandchildren Eleesha Salinas, Sabrina Espinoza, Marcos Rodriguez, Daniella Ramirez, Samantha Espinoza, Gabriel Salinas, Liliana Salinas, Daniel F. Espinoza III, Jacob Espinoza, Rosalie Villareal, Nathaniel Slocumb, Natalie Slocumb and Camilla Rodriguez and extended family and friends. Daniel was a man of faith and a member of Omega Church for many years. A devoted father, husband and grandfather, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He was a graduate of Southside High School where he later taught, coached, and served as a member of the school board after graduating from The University of Corpus Christi. He also coached at Kingsborough Middle School for 19 years where he had many winning seasons and loved working and developing players. After his retirement from coaching, he was the Vice Principal for a charter school for another 11 years. In retirement he was often keeping busy with odd jobs, such as demolition and fabrication. As a team he and his wife ministered to their community as foster parents, 35 children were loved and cared for 13 years. Following in his Father’s footsteps he enjoyed making furniture and remodeling houses. Another great passion was sharing his faith with others and leading bible studies. Just like his Mom he had a green thumb and enjoyed gardening with his wife. He and his family made many memories fishing down at the coast. He will be remembered by his humble leadership, one of his favorite bible verses was… as iron sharpens, iron so one man sharpens another, Proverbs 27:17. Visitation will be Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 4:30 p.m.to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 6:30 p.m. at Omega Church, 3737 Roosevelt Ave, San Antonio, TX 78214. Funeral Service to begin at 1:00 p.m. at Omega Church. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South.
