BRITO, David Nieto, 92, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on July 6, 2016. He was the oldest of five children born on December 29, 1923, to Manuel Penaloza Brito and Magdalena Nieto Brito. He was predeceased by his wives Maria Christina Rodriguez Brito and Marina Rodriguez. David was born in San Antonio where he lived most of his life with the exception of his time in the Navy during WWII and his later years when he and Marina resided in Rossville, Texas. During WWII, he was stationed in the Aleutian Islands & Kodiak, Alaska. He was a graduate of Jefferson High School & attended San Antonio College & Palo Alto College. David retired from Kelly AFB as an electrician in December 1980. During the Vietnam War, he had three 3 tours of duty in Vietnam & Cambodia. David is survived by his two daughters Maria Teresa Brito Joe Jimenez of San Antonio and Norma Brito Mendez Marshall Mendez of Melissa, Texas and his two grandchildren: Teresa Marie Brito of Houston and Daniel Perez of Garland. Michael Anthony Perez, Victoria Norma Perez & Jonathan Castoreno were his honorary grandchildren. He is also survived by his brothers Tony Brito of San Antonio and Samuel Brito Celina of Dallas and nieces and nephew: Margo Brito Murphy Tom, Michael Brito Marsha, Monica Brito Johnson Steve and Carmela Brito Bodak Neal. David loved living on his little ranch in Rossville away from the hustle and bustle of city life with his house and yard full of dogs. He had a love for gardening – flowers, vegetable and fruit trees and lived a full and independent life until the age of 90. The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the members of the Oak Park Nursing & Rehabilitation and the Veterans Administration for their dedication in caring for David. The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 9, 2016 starting at 9 am at Mission Park Funeral Chapels, 1700 SE Military Drive, San Antonio TX 78214. Services will follow at 10 am. David and Marina's ashes will be scattered at his former home in Rossville in the fall.
