David Knapp passed away peacefully on November 14, 2024 with his wife by his side in Houston, Texas. He was born on December 18, 1970, in Parma, Idaho, to Wanda and Clarence “Roy” Knapp and was the youngest of ten children. He spent his childhood playing with cousins and friends, swimming, camping, climbing trees and notably joined the wrestling team while in school. David joined the Army in 1990 and served his country overseas in Germany and Saudi Arabia during the Desert Storm War. He was honorably discharged in 1993 after medical complications due to chemical exposures in Saudi Arabia. That year he married the love of his life Roxane and gained two beautiful children Mistie and Michael whom he loved as his own. They resided in Colorado Springs, CO where he received his Bachelors of Computer Sciences at The National American University. In 1997 they made a big move down to San Antonio, Texas. In 1998 David and Roxane were blessed with their daughter Jazmyn. He then spent the next 5 years raising Jazmyn and caring for his elderly in-laws, Rebecca and John. David would go on to be a certified Sheet Metalist and work with Flo-Aire, installing commercial air conditioners. Due to medical complications from his time in the military he retired after roughly 13 years in the workforce. David, Roxane, and Michael moved to Bedias, Texas in 2018. There he lived out his days living the country life, feeding animals, taking walks on dirt roads, and enjoyed the occasional Veterans Breakfast in town. David loved to visit his grandsons in Austin, Texas and play from sunrise to sundown. He also enjoyed traveling with his wife on multiple cruises and stateside vacations getting to be the fun goofy tourist. He cherished his bonding time with Michael working on special wood projects together. He was filled with excitement and appreciation when he got to visit with his siblings and go golfing or try a new Mexican restaurant together. There is no doubt that anyone who came to know David whether for a minute or thirty years could deny the kindness and joy that radiated from him. He was a giving neighbor and friend to all. Goofing around wherever he went, making sure those around him had a smile as big as his. David spent his life dedicated to Jesus and was a firm believer in Christ. He dedicated countless hours of his time to his home church in San Antonio, Texas, Grace Tabernacle, to serve the lord in any way he could. David is now in the arms of Jesus, healed from all illness, rejoicing and praising God’s name. While our family is saddened by this enormous loss, we are overflowing with joy to know he is with his creator. With God’s grace and love he is preceded in passing by his parents and his two brothers Kent and Brent Knapp. David is survived by his loving wife, Roxane Knapp, his children, Mistie Masterson, Michael Salazar and Jazmyn (Dahlia) Gonzalez, his sisters, Kathie (Steve) Zimmerman, Linda (Terry) Ellis, BettyAnn (Mick) Mummert, Nancy (Don) Horton, and Shirley Bittick, his sister-in-law Linda (Barney) Thomas, his brothers, Dale (Renee) Knapp, and Ray (Alice) Knapp, his brothers-in-law Gary Marshall, Kenneth (Diana) Marshall, his grandchildren, Jociy Martinez, Alyssa Moreno, Diamond Garay, David Garay, Luca Gonzalez, Alexander Gonzalez, and 7 great-grandchildren, as well as multiple nieces and nephews. David was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin, grandfather, and friend that will be dearly missed.
