David Tse, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family, on December 8th, 2024, at the age of 87. Born on December 8th, 1937, in Hong Kong, David Yiu Hung cherished a life filled with love, adventure, and family. Following his graduation from La Salle College in Hong Kong, David continued his studies in the United States, earning degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry from St. Mary’s University. His passion for science led him to a rewarding career as a medical technologist. At University Hospital, he served as the Blood Bank Supervisor where he earned the respect and admiration of colleagues for his strong work ethic, expertise, compassion and commitment to excellence. David’s dedication to his profession spanned more than 40 years, however it was his genuine kindness and care for others that left the most lasting impression on all who worked with him. He met the love of his life, Lydia Tijerina, while they were both working at Baptist Memorial Hospital. The couple married in the Fall of 1967 at St. John Berchmans in San Antonio. They shared 52 wonderful years together, filled with mutual devotion, unwavering support, and countless adventures around the globe. Together, they raised a beautiful family and built a life centered on love, laughter, and faith. Beyond his professional achievements, he was a man of many passions. Traveling the world with Lydia, visiting destinations such as Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Costa Rica and numerous European countries, embracing the beauty and diversity of cultures. At home, David was a voracious reader who enjoyed swimming every day, and cooking for his loved ones. David’s greatest joy was his family, and his legacy lives on through his children: Dhyana Carole Tse, Debbie Tse Mollicone and her husband, Mike, Daphne Tse, DeeDee Tse Silver and her husband, Mike, James Tse and his wife, Ramona, and Joey Tse and his wife, Nicci; his beloved grandchildren: Michael Mollicone Jr., Meghan Mollicone, Jared Phelps Jr., Nathan Tse, Jacob Phelps, Hannah Tse, Sarah Tse, Kai Tse Hashemiyoon, and Jason Tse; his step-grandchildren: James Mollicone, Megan Silver, Trent Thomas, Isabel Gillenwater, and Nikki Silver; and his great-grandson, Eddeson Ryan Phelps. David was a cherished brother, survived by his loving brothers and sisters in the USA, Canada and Hong Kong. He is now reunited with his beloved Lydia, his parents Shek Fui Jimmy Tse and Lin Tai Li, and his grandson, David J. Tse Jr. His kindness, wisdom, and optimism will forever live in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and the beautiful legacy of love he leaves behind. Family and friends are invited to celebrate David’s life.
