It is with deep sorrow and heartfelt love that we announce the passing of Delfina Rodriguez Carrizales, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. Delfina was born on January 31, 1942, to Isaias and Rosario Rodriguez, and passed away peacefully on September 28, 2024, at the age of 82. Delfina married the love of her life, Jesus Cardenas Carrizales, on December 21, 1959. Together, they built a life filled with love, joy, and the values of family and hard work. Delfina was a strong-willed woman with an adventurous spirit, always ready to explore life with an open heart. She was deeply dedicated to her family, finding immense joy in providing a warm and welcoming home where everyone could gather and share a meal, creating lasting memories around the dinner table. Her home was not just a place of gathering but a sanctuary of love, laughter, and delicious food. Preceding her in death were her siblings Teresa Rodriguez Cooksey, Carlota Aguirre, and Isaias Rodriguez Jr., as well as her son Jesus Carrizales Jr. She is survived by her husband Jesus Carrizales, brother Ruben Rodriguez, her children Rosalinda Dodd, Kathy Carrizales, Renee Carvan (Doug), Michelle Garza (David), Juan Pablo Jesus Rodriguez and her daughter-in-law Delia Carrizales. Delfina was also a proud grandmother to Amanda Carrizales, Aaron Carrizales (Ashley), Daniel Dodd (Ashley), Kandice Dodd, Brittany Bond (Ian), Dakota Carrillo, Doug Carvan III (Emily), Taylor Griner (Chris), Tanner Carvan (Kelsey), Tyler Reagan, Madison Reagan, Christine Wake (Rob), Corey (Jaclyn) Garza, Gavin Garza, Alena Garza, Mia Garza, Naveah Rodriguez, and Saia Rodriguez. Her legacy continues through her great-grandchildren Addison Carrizales, Aaron Carrizales Jr., Alexander Carrizales, Briton Akins, Charlie Dodd, Leonel Duque, Colby Duque, and Warren Bond. Delfina will be remembered for her unwavering love for her family, her nurturing heart, and her ability to bring people together. Her strength, compassion, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed but forever cherished in our memories. A service to celebrate Delfina’s life will be held on Saturday, October 5th at Mission Park South. Family and friends are invited to join in honoring her life and legacy.
