In Loving Memory of Diana G. Garza Diana G. Garza passed away on August 1st, 2025, at the age of 64 in San Antonio, Texas. Born in Mexico and raised in San Antonio, Diana's life was a tapestry of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She loved to celebrate Fiesta, garden, and craft wreaths. --- Early Life Diana was born in Nueva Rosita, Mexico, in 1961 and spent her formative years in San Antonio, Texas. Rooted in rich cultural traditions and surrounded by family, she carried the warmth and vibrancy of her heritage into every part of her life. --- Professional Life and Legacy Diana devoted over 35 years to the City of San Antonio, a career marked by diligence, compassion, and a profound commitment to public service. Her leadership and kindness impacted generations of coworkers and citizens alike. Her professional experience included working in many different departments, having numerous coworkers, which resulted in building lifelong friendships. Among them was a cherished group of women she affectionately called her “Sister Squad.” Together, they shared laughter, supported one another through life’s turns, and embodied the spirit of camaraderie. Diana was preparing to retire in December—a well-earned milestone she eagerly anticipated, with plans to devote more time to family and new adventures. --- Family Diana was the heart of her family, guiding them with wisdom, laughter, and unconditional love. She is survived by: - Her devoted husband of 46 years: - Thomas R. Garza Sr. - Her children: - Thomas R. Garza Jr. - Erica N. Gonzales (Anastancio Sanchez) - Jessica S. Williams (Koraye Williams) - Her granddaughters: - Miranda R. Gonzales - Kori A. Williams - Jordyn S. Williams - And she was joyfully anticipating the arrival of her first grandson in December. She is also survived by: - Her Mother: - Marilu Lopez de Vega - Her Sisters: - Gabriella Vasquez - Rosa Maria Vasquez And numerous nieces, nephews, and family members who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her beloved father Roberto Vasquez and her infant Jesus R. Garza, whose memories remained deeply embedded in her heart. --- A Beautiful Soul Diana's laughter lit up every room. Her ability to make others feel seen and cherished was a gift she shared freely. Whether hosting backyard parties, offering quiet encouragement, or sharing heartfelt stories, she lived a life of grace, humility, and joy. She had that rare magic—turning ordinary moments into laughter and treasured memories. --- Service and Celebration A celebration of Diana’s life will be held on August 8th, 2025, at Mission Park Burial South. Visitation will begin at 5 PM with a memorial service to follow at 7 PM. Service and burial will be August 9th, 2025, at 9 AM. Diana was a proud and spirited fan of the Dallas Cowboys, win or lose, she cheered with passion and loyalty. In tribute to her love for the team, guests are warmly invited to wear Cowboys gear to the service or her favorite color royal blue.
