Dixie Lee Bradbury went home to Jesus on May 29, 2026 at the age of 84. She was born on May 12,1942 at Downtown Baptist Hospital in San Antonio. She married her high school sweetheart and love of her life, EJ, on August 11, 1962 at Harlandale Baptist Church in San Antonio. She was a loving mom to Carrie and Steve and a proud and loving grandmother to Rachel, Ryan, Reiley, and Reese, and great grandmother to Taylor and Peyton. She was an active member in her church, Harlandale Baptist Church and then later in life at First Baptist Church of San Antonio. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and singing in the church choir. In 1990 she bought Page's Sewing Machine Shop and later, after the loss of her beloved husband, she changed the name to Seventh Heaven Quilt Shop and her business grew into something really special. An avid seamstress and quilter, she delighted in sharing her joy of all things fabric with her customers who were more like friends and family. She also enjoyed travelling, gardening, working as an usher at Spurs games and at the Majestic Theatre, and volunteering in the schools. But nothing brought her more joy than being with her family. Dixie was preceded in death by her husband EJ, parents Harold and Rubie White, sister Sue Ann Lehman and her great granddaughter Blake Willson. She leaves behind her daughter, Carrie Walker (Stan); her son, Steve Bradbury (Gretchen); her grandson, Ryan Walker; her granddaughters, Rachel Willson (Kyle), Reiley Bradbury, and Reese Bradbury; and her great-granddaughters, Taylor Willson and Peyton Willson. She is also survived by her sister in law, Carolyn Rogers, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and loving friends. Pallbearers are Steve Bradbury, Ryan Walker, Reese Bradbury, Darren Shockey, Keith Fox, and Russell Fox. Toby Shockey will be officiating the service. A celebration service will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South on Monday, June 8, 2026 at 11 am with visitation with the family beginning at 10 am. Interment will follow immediately at Mission Burial Park South. The family wishes to thank the staff and caregivers at The Brooks of Cibolo Assisted Living, Country Care Manor Nursing Home in La Vernia, and Gentiva Hospice for the loving care they showed their mom in the last few years of her life. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association in Dixie's name.
