Donald Lee Coonradt, age 84, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, surrounded by the love of family and friends. Born on March 6, 1942, in San Antonio, Texas, Don was the son of Robert and Grace Coonradt. He grew up in San Antonio and graduated from Edison High School in 1960. A dedicated and hardworking man, Don spent 35 years with City Public Service and was also the proud owner of Don's Garage. Don married Carol Perez Coonradt in 1961. In 1994, he married Barbara Coonradt, who remained his devoted companion throughout the rest of his life. An avid outdoorsman, Don found great joy in fishing and deer and dove hunting. He was also passionate about karate, competing for many years, earning his brown belt, and winning numerous trophies. Whether spending time outdoors, working with his hands, or sharing stories with family and friends, Don approached life with determination, generosity, and a strong sense of loyalty. Above all, Don cherished his family. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, great-uncle, great-great-uncle, and a loyal friend whose presence will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Don is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Coonradt; his children, Sherri Campbell and husband Jerry, Scott Coonradt, Shari Grant and husband Chuck, Debbie Lingner, and Todd Black and wife Teresa; his grandchildren, Austin Campbell, Megan Campbell, Nicole Grant, Colton Lingner (wife Mariel), Brittany Carter (husband Cameron), and Travis Black; and his great-grandchildren, Johnny Lingner, Magdelyn Cernovich, Thea Carter, Clara Carter, and Clay Carter. He is also survived by his sisters, Maxine Cothren and husband Sterling "Sam" Cothren, and Nita Mosheim and husband Max Mosheim; nieces and nephews, Kathy Mosheim, Lisa Mott, Lori Oliver and husband John, Michelle Keszler and husband Jeff, and Charles "Chuck" Cockrill and wife Michelle; as well as numerous great-nieces, great-nephews, and extended family members. Don also leaves behind his lifelong best friend, Larry Lally. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Grace Coonradt; his first wife, Carol Coonradt; his brother, Robert Coonradt; his sister, Shirley Cockrill; his nieces, Charlsey Cockrill and Samantha Green; and his great-nephew, Austin "Chaz" Cockrill. Don's legacy of hard work, devotion to family, friendship, and love for the outdoors will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. He will be remembered always and missed beyond measure.
