Doroteo “Teo” Ramirez, Jr., passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at the age of 90. Born on January 24, 1936, in Crystal City, Texas, Teo was the beloved son of Doroteo Ramirez and Viviana Gomez Ramirez. Teo attended Burbank High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army National Guard. Following his service, he dedicated his life to the craft of upholstery, learning alongside his father. A true master of his trade, Teo took immense pride in his work and earned a reputation for exceptional craftsmanship, unwavering work ethic, and meticulous attention to detail. His work stands as a lasting testament to the pride he took in everything he did. In 1954, Teo met the love of his life, Dominga Martinez, at a dance in San Antonio. Their love story blossomed into a lifelong partnership, leading to their marriage in September 1955. Together they shared seven decades of marriage, joyfully celebrating their 70th wedding anniversary in 2025. Their enduring love served as an inspiration to all who knew them. Teo found his greatest happiness outdoors and cherished every opportunity to create lasting memories with his family. Whether camping, traveling, listening to music, working in his yard, or simply enjoying time with those he loved, he embraced life’s simple pleasures with gratitude and joy. Above all, Teo was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend. He led by example through hard work, quiet strength, generosity, and unconditional love. His family was the center of his life, and the values he instilled will continue to guide future generations. His family shares their heartfelt gratitude for the countless sacrifices he made throughout his life. Because of his love, dedication, and steadfast example, they were deeply cared for and richly blessed. His legacy will live on in the lives he touched, and he will be forever loved, deeply missed, and never forgotten. Teo is survived by his loving wife, Dominga Ramirez; his four children, Doroteo Ramirez (Gloria), Daniel Ramirez (Graciela), Elena Sanchez (Esteban, Jr.), and Vivian Ramirez; his eight grandchildren, Doroteo David Ramirez, Cynthia Villanueva (Ray), Delia Garza (Steven), Liane Vasquez (Joseph), Alicia Ramirez, Daniel Ramirez, Steven Tyler Sanchez (Annie), and Celeste Elena Sanchez; and his seven great-grandchildren, Luke Villanueva, Landon Villanueva, MacKenzie Villanueva, Joseph Vasquez, Baylee Vasquez, James Garza, and Theodore James Sanchez. He is also survived by his sisters, Lucia Castro, Juana Casiano, Irma Gonzalez, and Maria Guadalupe Torres, and his brother, Domingo Ramirez.
