Dyane Story Hudson was born July 6th, 1942, in Magnolia, Arkansas to John Story and Era Bess Robinson and went to be with the lord on February 26th, 2025. She is preceded in death by her parents, siblings (Mary Jane Scott, Doris Jean Easter, James Robinson Jr, Jesse Cannon, and Patsy Simms), best friend (Marcia Amos), and her loving husband Earl Dee Hudson Jr. She is survived by her children Vicki Lynn, Earl Dee (Maria), and Michael Anthony (Jessica) Hudson; grandchildren Melanie Ann (Jeremiah Diehl), Vanessa Michelle, Clarissa Rochelle, Michael Anthony Jr, Lauren Lynn, Deidre Dion, and Felicia Danielle (Michael Lucas); great grandchildren Paxton Alexander, and Jaxson Lee Diehl, Anthony Jr, Adrian, Abel, and Ashton Mata, Liam Lee and Levi Levan Staten, Nova Bernadette, Luna Maria, and Sol Dee Lucas, and Aurora Octavia Taffner. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews. Dyane spent her formative years in Magnolia, Arkansas, graduating from Walker High School in 1959. Proudly embracing the motto, "Nothing so fine as the Class of '59." Regularly attending her high school reunions alongside her sister Doris Jean. After graduation, she attended North Texas State in the Dallas area, where she studied Education. Dyane shared 30 wonderful years of marriage with Earl. The couple married in December of 1960 and they built their family while relocating frequently due to Earl's service in the Armed Forces. In 1971 they settled down in San Antonio, TX, where Dyane began her career in Civil Service, proudly retiring after 27 years. In retirement, she worked as a Crossing Guard for another 10 years. Cherishing every child who came through her post. She delighted in giving them popsicles to beat the Texas heat and small gifts at Christmas. Dyane was an active member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church, where she participated in and chaired various groups, including Sunday School, The Counting Team, the Tribe of Ephraim, Silver Saints, AA, and Overcomers. Through these ministries, she dedicated herself to helping many of God's Children overcome their addictions- a cause especially close to her heart, as she proudly celebrated over 40 years of sobriety. In recognition of her faith and dedication, she was honored as the Christian Woman of the Year in 1997. A passionate traveler she explored the world with the Silver Saints and with her Bible study groups, Serendipity and the Forget Me Nots. One of her most memorable journeys was a pilgrimage to the Holy Land, Jerusalem, in 2009. In Dyane's later years, she was a devoted and loving grandmother, wholeheartedly supporting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in all of their academic achievements and extracurricular activities. Through her strong faith in God, she provided comfort and guidance, she was and always will be their biggest cheerleader. To say she was proud of them would be an understatement - they were the greatest joys of her life. Next to her relationship with Jesus, her family was the most important part of her life. Though she moved away from her home in Arkansas at a young age she remained deeply connected to her extended family. Dyane Hudson was a remarkable woman whose love and kindness touched everyone she knew. To know her was to love her and to be loved by her. She embraced family- both by blood and by heart- making everyone she cared for feel like her own. While her absence leaves an immense void in our hearts, we take comfort in knowing she gained her wings and is at peace, truly at home. May her memory bring peace to those who loved her as we celebrate a life well lived. One filled with Love, Laughter and God.
