On October 24, 2016, heaven became a little brighter, while our world darkened. Heaven gained another Saint, and at the same time, we lost our most precious father, grandfather, and great grandfather. Earl Hardy left our world, reaching the final destination to his life long journey... heaven. Earl Hardy was born on October 11, 1930, in Poteet, Texas. He leaves behind his two daughters, Sharon Maddox, husband Mike, Tillie Naillon, husband Ron. Four grandchildren, Casey Maddox (Rebekah Maddox), Brittany Maddox, Brady Maddox (Elisabeth Maddox), and Patrick Naillon. Six great-grandchildren, Cade Maddox, Zayli Maddox, Zarek Maddox, Teagan Maddox, Presley Maddox, and Brooklyn Esquivel. He also leaves behind one sister, Francis Yardley, and husband Lynn, several sister-in-laws, Bonnie Foster, Grace French, Viola Turner, Johanna Hardy, brother-in-law Randall Turner and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Betty Hardy, his beloved grandson, Nicholas Naillon, his parents, Eddie and Maude Fisher Hardy, brothers, Gordon, Raymond, Van, Jack, Joe, Frank, and Herbert Hardy and several nephews and nieces. Earl served his country as a medic in the Army from 1952 to 1954. He was stationed in Germany for two years. During his service, on leave, he met and married Betty Tillery. Earl worked hard all of his life, from the time he was 5 years old until just a few months before his passing. He also was a full time minister at churches in Liberty, Alvin, Corpus Christi and San Antonio, Texas, for more than 25 years. He finally retired from the ministry and became a member of Victory Assembly of God, where he remained until he was called home. In 1978, he started his own company, Ex-Pest Exterminators. He owned and operated this successful company until 2004, when he finally decided to retire and eventually sold the company. Above all, Earl loved working for God. His whole life was dedicated to God and his family. He was a loving father, husband and grandfather. He will be forever missed by everyone that knew him, especially his family. Our loss, is most certainly Heaven’s gain. Earl's last words were, “God, just take me home.” We all know, without doubt, that he is in the presence of his Lord and Savior. He leaves a great legacy for all of us to follow.
