Earl Richard Robertson, age 85, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully February 26, 2009 with his loving wife Lorraine at his side. He was born on February 18, 1924 at the home of his parents, also known as "The Home Place", located in Bexar County, Texas. He was the youngest of six children born to Robert Edward Robertson and Mary Veronica Seltzer. Earl grew up on the family farm raising seasonal crops and livestock to support the family. On January 12, 1945, Earl entered the U.S. Army and served honorably in the Pacific theater, earning several awards and citations. Shortly after, his military tour, he met and married his wife, Lorraine. They were married for 61 years. Earl and Lorraine resided on a small portion of the family farm and raised three children. Earl's life focused on farming, ranching, and instilling strong family and lifetime values in their children. Due to the 1955 Texas drought and hard economic times, Earl sought employment with the East Central Independent School District where he retired in 1987 as the Transportation Manager. Earl is survived by his loving wife Lorraine and beloved family including his children: Glenn R. Robertson and his wife Rosanna; Kathy C. Elder and her husband Jay Rodney; Eric R. Robertson and his wife Destie Lynn; Also surviving are grandchildren Amanda M. Robertson; Nicholas R. Robertson; William E. Robertson; and Shelby R. Robertson. Let's not forget Earl's pets, Penny, Dobey and Buddy. SERVICES Visitation will be held from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, March 2 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South; funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South.
