Edna C Cervantes, a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother passed away on Friday March 21, 2025, at the age of 70 years old. Edna was born on March 24, 1954, to her late parents Frank and Gloria Cerda, and lived her entire life in San Antonio, TX. Edna was preceded in death by her youngest brother Alexander. Edna is survived by her husband Luis R. Cervantes; her daughters Elizabeth (Lynn) and Melissa; her son Luis Jr. (Anita). She is also survived by her three beautiful grandchildren: Maame Araba, Clara, and Kai; her sister Margaret and her brother Frank Jr. (Liz), and numerous nieces and nephews. The name “Edna” in Hebrew means “delight or rejuvenation” and describes her so well! Edna was the epitome of an upbeat spirit, and always took note of the bright side of everything. No matter how stressful and weary life can get, Edna was there to give new energy and vigor. She just had a way, and it was unique for each person. It may have been a smile, a giggle, a laugh, a hug or a pat, a funny word or phrase, something to snap you out from under the cloud over you. When sadness came, her loved ones would take refuge in her, and her calm, comforting spirit would bring peace and tranquility. She continues to do so even now in spirit, as she celebrates with the angels in Heaven. Edna enjoyed listening to live music and was known to dabble in a wide array of musical genres. She was an excellent baker and known for her famous homemade cakes. She enjoyed the holidays, Easter being one of her favorites. Her grandchildren were her world, and each one of them has been blessed with some of her characteristics or mannerisms to carry on her legacy. Edna was also a caring grandmother to several foster children whom she provided much love and affection for. A visitation for Edna will be held on Friday 3/28/2025 from 5pm to 8pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South 1700 SE Military, San Antonio, TX 78214. A prayer service will be held on Saturday 3/29/2025 at 3pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South 1700 SE Military, San Antonio, TX 78214 with the burial to follow immediately after at Mission Burial Park South. The family welcomes everyone to attend the reception at St. Leonard's Catholic Church Reception Hall 8510 S. Zarzamora St. S.A. TX 78224.
