EDWARD LEE MCCARLEY APRIL 21, 1936 – MAY 19, 2016 Edward Lee McCarley joined his parents and brother in heaven on May 19, 2016, at the age of 80. A loyal servant of his Lord, he was born April 21, 1936, in Corona, New Mexico. As a child he traveled with his parents Jw.J. Jack and Emma Marie Whitten McCarley to military posts. He also was a military veteran having served in Korea. Edward was a long-time member of Northside Baptist Church where he was ordained as a Baptist deacon in 1961 and served as Music Director many years. He was a graduate of Edison High School 1955 and St. Mary's University 1975. A man of many talents, he worked in personnel management positions as well as at hardware stores, courier services, and insurance. He was a friendly, happy, outgoing person who never met a stranger. His passions were music, skiing, playing Mexican Train, and being involved with his church, Parkhills Baptist. He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Anderson McCarley. They were married for fifty-three years, during which they traveled in the United States. Edward's favorite place was Colorado's Rocky Mountains. Edward was preceded in death by his parents, brother Cecil, nephew Michael, brother-in-law Jay Anderson, and sister-in-law Lynette Lancaster. He is survived by his wife Phyllis, sister Jacqueline McCarley, brother Maurice Margaret McCarley, sister-in-law Julia McCarley, brother-in-law Larry Lancaster, nieces Cynthia Hodo, Connie McCarley, Brenda Smith, Ellen McCarley, Lorna Nipper, Caryl DeVries, Laura Perez, Lisa Garland, Sherrie Anderson, Susan Anderson, and nephew David McCarley. He will be missed by many great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and a host of treasured friends. A special thanks to home health nurse Julie Dittman and to the doctors and nursing staff at Methodist Stone Oak Hospital. SERVICES Visitation will be held from 4-6 PM Sunday, May 22, 2016 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North. Funeral services will be held at Noon on Monday, May 23, 2016 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North followed by burial at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens 7735 Gibbs-Sprawl Rd. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Manna House, a mission project of Parkhills Baptist Church, or a charity of your choice.
