Funeral services for Edwin Lothar Koehler, 87, of Bryan, Texas, will be at 10 am Wednesday, January 2, 2012 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in San Antonio, Texas, with Reverend Kim DeVries officiating. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston military cemetery. Visitation will take place at the church one hour prior to the service. Mr. Koehler went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on December 24, 2012 in Bryan, Texas. Edwin was born August 24, 1925 in Kerrobert, Saskatchewan, Canada, the last of seven sons and three daughters of the late Frank G. and Emma E. Koehler. Upon graduation from high school in Los Angeles, California in 1943, Edwin was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in WWII until his discharge in 1946. He graduated from Woodbury College in California in 1949. He married Leatrice Michalk in June 1949 in Van Nuys, California. Edwin was employed by Safeway stores in Burbank, California for 5 years and GMAC in San Antonio for 33 years. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran church and Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in San Antonio and Bethel Lutheran Church in Bryan, Texas. Edwin is survived by his faithful wife of 63 years, Leatrice Michalk Koehler of Bryan, Texas; son, Kenneth Wayne Koehler of Bryan, Texas; daughter Gayle Koehler Westmoreland and husband Aubrey Dare Westmoreland III of Marshall, Texas; grandchildren Cody Koehler and his wife Michelle of San Antonio, Kyle Koehler and his wife Kelli of San Antonio, Julie Krolak of Dunwoody, Georgia, Harrison Wesmoreland and his wife Allison of Ft. Worth, Texas, Cassidy Koehler of Bryan, Texas, John Krolak, Jr. of Layton, Utah, Lorien Westmoreland of College Station, Texas, Joy Krolak of Alpharetta, Georgia, Grant Westmoreland of College Station, Texas; and many nieces and nephews of the very large Koehler family around the country and Canada. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Janet Elaine Krolak; siblings Leonard Koehler, Arnim Koehler, Lenora Koehler, Margaret Larsen, Arthur Koehler, Frank Koehler, Victor Koehler, Martin Koehler, and Doris Canfield. Pallbearers will be his grandsons Cody, Kyle, Harrison, John, and Grant as well as John Krolak, Sr. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the following; Mt Calvary Lutheran Church Building Fund, 308 Mt.
