Edwina Ann Eargle Fulton of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 12, 2026, to be with the Lord. She was a faithful and loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who embraced life fully, even in the face of Parkinson’s disease, which she bore with strength and grace. Edwina was born on September 3, 1946, in Anahuac, Texas, to Edwin Worth Eargle and Nadine Keith Eargle, who preceded her in death. Named after her father, she spent her early years in Anahuac alongside her sister, Pamela Sobey. Her father was a teacher and coach in the local schools, and Edwina’s vibrant spirit showed early—she even served as a majorette for the high school band at just five years old. In 1951, Edwina moved with her family to San Antonio, where her parents and uncle, John Eargle, played key roles in founding Keystone School, a respected private institution serving grades Pre-K through 12. Edwina attended Keystone and graduated in 1964 as its highest-ranking honor graduate. She went on to attend Texas Christian University, earning a degree in Biology. She became a teacher for a time, prior to starting her large family. Edwina had a deep love for travel, both within the United States and abroad. She had a particular passion for Africa, where she embraced adventure—camping in the wild, going on safaris, and even hunting game. Fearless and spirited, she embodied the strength and independence of a modern-day Annie Oakley. Throughout her life, Edwina was actively involved in community and service organizations. She was a member of the Junior League of San Antonio and Phi Beta Phi, and she dedicated significant time to the Bexar County Medical Society Alliance, where she once served as President. A devoted Christian, Edwina was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. Even as Parkinson’s disease progressed, she remained a source of strength and encouragement to those around her. She cared deeply for family and friends, always ready to offer support where it was needed. Her warmth, kindness, and radiant smile brought joy to all who knew her. Edwina is survived in life by her five children: Lauri Ann Dahl, Kristen Adela Kocurek (married to Sarah Davis), Katie Elizabeth Youngblood, Thomas Michael Kocurek Jr. (married to Ana Kocurek), and Patrick Edwin Kocurek (married to Andra Kocurek). Most important in Edwina’s life were her 8 grandchildren and great grandson, of whom she could not have been prouder: Natalie Dahl, Nathan Dahl, Bergen Dahl, Colby Jones, Tate Jones, Chloe Youngblood, Madison Kocurek, Mason Kocurek, and Everest House. She is also survived by her husband, Jerry Fulton, and her younger sister, Pamela Sobey. She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by all whose lives she touched.
