CASTILLO Elisa Cisneros Castillo fondly known as Chelo entered God's kingdom on September 21, 2013 at age 86, after a critical fall. Elisa was happily married to Enrique E. Castillo for 62 years. They were inseparable. Elisa loved life! She loved to sing and used her talent by being a founding member of the Mariachi De Colores Choir in the 1970's, the first Catholic mariachi choir in the United States. She loved selling and once again used her skills to sell Avon Products for 50 years. She loved dancing so she formed one of the first church "Danzas de Matachines" in San Antonio. She was a founding member of the Caminantes de Cristo which was established over 35 years ago. This group was one of the first organizations to take the passion of Jesus Christ to the streets of San Antonio. She loved people, so she became a member of numerous church and social clubs, such as The Guadalupanas, Bible Study Groups, Bonco club and countless others. But most of all, she loved her family unconditionally. Elisa embedded the value of education in her children, nephews and nieces as well as her strong Catholic values. Elisa is survived by her husband Enrique E. Castillo; son, Gus Castillo-Enrique Moncivais; daughter, Blanca E. Ramirez-Julio Ramirez; son, Henry E. Castillo- Lilia A. Castillo; granddaughters, Bianca Aguillon-Ruben Zuniga; Ericka Aguirre-Michael Aguirre; Alejandria Castillo; grandsons, Vicente Castillo; Enrique Castillo III; Gabriel Castillo; great grandsons, Ruben Ivan Zuniga, Maddox Zuniga, and Michael Isaiah Aguirre; sisters, Elida Euresti; Celia Munoz; brothers, Ricardo Cisneros-Lucrecia Cisneros; Raul Cisneros-Guadalupe Cisneros; and numerous nephews and nieces. Visitation will begin on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Alamo Funeral Home and then from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at St. Patrick Catholic Church with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A procession will depart the funeral home on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 9:30 a.m. for a 10:00 a.m. mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church with the interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery #2.
