In Loving Memory of Elodia Ruiz Gallegos Elodia Gallegos welcomed in the arms of Jesus on September 12, 2025, in San Antonio, Texas at the age of 87 years. She was born in La Coste, Texas to the late loving parents Francisco Ruiz and Cipriana Ayala. Elodia preceded by the love of her life Richard M. Gallegos of 51 years. Elodia and Richard blessed with four children. Children Richard Gallegos Jr., William Gallegos, Cindy Stansberry (Kimberly Laxton -lovingly regarded as a daughter), and Letty (Phillip) Garcia. Grandchildren Kimberly (Jonathan) Laxton, Trevor Stansberry, Phillip Garcia II., Mia Garcia, Jake Wisdom, Melody Gallegos (Messiah), Kevin (Erica) Gallegos and William (Cynthia) Gallegos. Great Grandchildren, Daniel Salazar, Isabella Laxton, Madilyn Laxton, Richard Laxton, John Laxton, Brianna Laxton, Benjamin Green, Daniel Echeverria III, Chelsea Alyssa Paiz, Liam Gallegos, Vincent Gallegos, Kaylee Gallegos, Camila Gallegos, and Daniela Gallegos. Siblings, Santos (Gloria) Ruiz, Joe (Gloria) Ruiz, Raymond Ruiz (Josie), Hilda (Lawrence) Cabanilla, Dominga Martinez, and Mary Garcia. Preceded in Death by her siblings Pascual Ruiz and Presiliana Gonzalez Numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Elodia blessed to have dear friendships. Albert and Marie Gauna, Pedro and Manuela Luna who were an integral part of her Christian journey. She was secretary of husband’s business, Richard’s TV, and Sales for 17 years. Elodia dedicated her life to serving God and her Family. Reflecting the love and grace of Jesus Christ in all that he did. A devout Catholic, she was a member of St. John Berchman church and CCD teacher. She loved to share the love of God with anyone she met. Elodia was Founder and President of the Disciples of Christ Prison Ministry for 25 years. Traveling within Texas, holding worship services for people to help find hope and redemption. She was active in the “Cursillo Movement” leadership team. As a cursillista, she joyfully served Cursillo teams, mentored new members, and helped organize Ultreyas" "The Cursillo motto, 'De Colores” a testament to her life. Her vibrant faith, humor, and unconditional love touched countless lives and pointed them toward Christ". A gifted songwriter and singer Elodia found extraordinary joy in composing and performing Christian music. The songs were a source of comfort and inspiration to her followers. She is now singing in the ultimate choir with the angels." Mom’s music listed on You Tube and on Keda radio station. Favorite songs: Walking through The Storm Take My Heart Dios Me Salvo She enjoyed traveling, from California to Florida coast to Caribbean cruises with her family. She loved shopping, dining, reading, writing, interacting in Facebook and spending time with her beautiful children and grandchildren. Favorite biblical verse, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 SERVICES Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Visitation will be on from 5:00pm-8:00pm. Rosary at 6:00pm at Mission Park Funeral Chapels Medical Center. Wednesday, September 24, 2025, at 11:00am A procession will leave the funeral home. 11:30am Funeral Mass celebrated at St. John Berchman Catholic Church, 1147 Cupples Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78226. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery. The family would like to extend an invitation for a luncheon after the burial. VFW Hall 2541 W.
