Elva R. Cavazos went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 11, 2024, at the age of 84. She was born on March 17, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas. She is preceded in death by her husband Danny F. Cavazos; parents Olivia V. Rodriguez and Jose E. Rodriguez; father-in-law Atanacio (Friday) Cavazos, and mother-in-law Gertrude (Vita) Cavazos, stepson Danny F. Cavazos Jr.; brothers J. Rodolfo (Rudy-Buffalo) V. Rodriguez and Albert V. Rodriguez; sister-in-law Dora Elia Rodriguez and nieces Elizabeth Rodriguez and Tina Cavazos Schul (Randy). She is survived by her daughter Linda Cavazos Pursel and her son-in-law Anthony M. Pursel and stepdaughter Ella Gatchell; brother Ernest V. Rodriguez; grandson Steven Jon Gatchell; great-grandsons Micah Gatchell and James Gatchell; sisters-in-law Irene Rodriguez and Susan Cavazos; brother-in-law Edward (Boogie) Cavazos; nieces Ruth Ann Rodriguez and Gina Rodriguez (Tim); nephews Rojelio (Roger) Rodriguez, Ernest (Ernie) Rodriguez Jr. (Lisa), James Cavazos (Misty), Johnny Cavazos (Shawna), and Randy Schul (Tina); great-nieces Jessica Rodriguez (Victor), Lisa R. Fabela (Andy), Valerie Cisneros (Anthony), Victoria Lynn Lopez-Hollis (Sean), Kayla Comeaux (Marcus), Alyssa Cavazos, Carley Cavazos, Lindsey Cavazos, Madison Cavazos, Mackenna Cavazos and Kennidy Cavazos; great-nephews Tristan Cavazos and Connor Cavazos along with numerous great-great-nephews and nieces, cousins, relatives, and friends. Elva will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, beginning with a Family Viewing at 4:00 p.m. and General Viewing starting at 5:00 p.m. There will be a Memorial Tribute beginning at 6:00 p.m., featuring Pianist Edward Travi' and a video presentation, Eulogy and shared memories or stories are welcomed, followed by a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. On Friday, September 20, 2024, Family and Friends are welcome to meet at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South at 8:30 a.m. for a final viewing and proceed to St. Margaret Mary's Catholic Church for Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mission Burial Park South. Following the interment there will be a catered Fellowship Meal for Family and Friends at Harmony Baptist Church Fellowship Hall (12088 Old Corpus Christi Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78223).
