EMILIA P. "EMMA" CRUZ, Born May 28, 1927 in San Antonio Died July 28, 2016 in San Antonio Emma was born & raised in San Antonio, but was a long time resident of Galveston and Hitchcock and only moved back to San Antonio later in life. She was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister and daughter who dedicated her life to the caregiving of her family. Emma was a very spiritual person and always was ready to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. She always stayed positive in good times and bad. She would tell all of us that we must have faith, hope, never give up and stay positive. Emma worked & retired from the Galveston ISD where she worked over 10 years as a school bus aide working with handicapped children. Emma was preceded in death by her parents, Pablo and Eutimia Sorreno Perez. She is survived by her loving husband, Ernest G. Cruz, Jr. of San Antonio; she leaves behind fond memories with her three sons, Ernest Cruz, III of Augusta, Maine, David Cruz & wife, Lisa of San Antonio, Freddy Cruz & wife, Denise of Austin; her daughter Becky Cruz & husband, Ray of Hitchcock. Emma held a special place in her heart for all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren and was very proud of them all. Grandsons, David Cruz, Jr. & wife, Vanessa of San Antonio, Ernest Cruz, IV of Winthrop, Maine, Paul Cruz of Augusta, Maine, Zach Cruz of San Antonio, Felix Cruz of Austin, Dugans Levi Martinez & wife, Mira of New York, New York, Monte Hughes & wife, Kelli of Dickinson; granddaughters, Ashley Venegas & husband, Felipe, and Shelby Perry all of Hitchcock, Texas; great grandchildren, Charlie, Scout, Sunnie, & Storie Venegas of Hitchcock, Texas; Samantha & Gavin Cruz of Winthrop, Maine; Alayna Cruz of Augusta, Maine, Roman Cruz of San Antonio; Eliana, Yisrael, Dovid, Racheli & Moshe Martinez all of New York, New York, Katie & Jordan Hughes of Dickinson, Texas. Sharing in her loss, too, are her brother, Jesse Perez & wife, Jane of Adrian, Michigan and sisters, Beckie Rodriguez of Old Bridge, New Jersey, and Hopie Lopez of Adrian, Michigan. Many loving nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and a host of other loving family members and many friends also survived Mrs. Cruz. SERVICES Visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. on Friday, August 5, 2016 at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, 3401 Cherry Ridge Drive. The Graveside Service will be at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, August 6, 2016 at Mission Burial Park Dominion North, 20900 IH 10 West.
