MERY Emilia Tueme Mery, loving mother, grandmother, aunt and friend passed into our Lord's arms on Wednesday, July 27, 2011. Emilia was born January 11th, 1927 in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico. In 1951, she met and married the love of her life, John Amin Mery, and moved to San Antonio, Texas. She lost her husband at an early age and Emilia Nena went to work in childcare to support her family. She was a dedicated member of St. George Maronite Catholic Church and served as a member of the St. George Ladies Altar Society. She faithfully volunteered preparing and serving meals during the monthly LAS dinners and always helped with food preparation for the fund raising events at church. For many years she would organize and prepare the annual St. George Children's Christmas Party. She would cook a full turkey dinner and provide gifts to the children of our community and children left alone during the holidays. Emilia was preceded in death by her husband, John A. Mery and son Russell G. Mery. She is survived by her daughters, Miriam Wells and Roxanne Kearns, sons, Bruce J. Mery and Guy M. Mery, sons and daughter–in-law, Alton Wells, Kevin Kearns, Janet Mery and Lori Mery. Emilia Sito has twelve grandchildren and 2 soon to be 3 great-grandchildren. She was loved and respected by family and friends. Her family gathered around her as she passed from this world. She is an example of strength and tenacity and leaves a legacy of faith and love. When the joys are still remembered and the sorrow has quietly gone, There will always be a special place in the heart where love lives on. Visitation will begin at 5:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 31st, 2011 at St. George Maronite Catholic Church, 6070 Babcock. Liturgy and funeral service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Monday August 1st, 2011 at St. George Maronite Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
