Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6. Emma lived a life reflecting and teaching that Jesus is the way to God; that Jesus is the truth we are searching for and that Jesus is the very life we long for. She often quoted this scripture to strangers, friends and especially family because Jesus was her everything and she wanted everyone to have what she had. And now she is in the very presence of the One whom she desired, and great is her reward, Jesus himself… Emma Hernandez Ramirez went to be with the Lord on February, 29 2012 just one month shy of her 81st birthday she was 80 years old. Born in Tempe Arizona on April 17th 1931 to Juan and Salvadora Hernandez of Puerto Rico. She sang in their Radio ministry through the 40s. She was the 5th out of 16 and is preceded in death by 10 siblings and her parents as well as two daughters Matilda and Carmen. She is survived by 6 siblings, Jane Marlow, Martha Ingram, Eunice Reddic, Esther Santiago, Ezra Hernandez and David Hernandez. She is survived by 10 children who will miss her love, laughter, and warmth; Armando Gutierrez, Nelda Amesqutia, Minerva Lopez, Mercy Elizabeth Hernandez, Cecilia Chapa, Oralia Ramirez; Richard Ramirez, Joy Gracie Ochoa, Mary Jane Rodriguez and Genevie Espinosa. 37 grandchildren: Emily, Ray, Christina, Naomi, Daniel, Shelssie and Crystal; Louie Boy and Lorraine; Matilda, Janet and Valerie; Joe David, Israel David, Matthew David and Aaron David; Nicole, Daniel, Teresa and Valerie; Kayla, Joey, Alexis, Michael, Savannah and Zachariah; Sarah, Esther and Isaiah; Emma Joy Joyce, Tracie and Amanda; And Isaac, Jasmine, Justine, Jacob and Jeremiah. And survived by 41 great grandchildren; one born 7 days before her passing Jovanni, whom she got to see. Survived by two great, great granddaughters. 20 of her grandchildren have yet to have children of their own. A continuous blessed generation and their generations who will follow after God because of her faith. And she is survived by 8 son in-laws and a daughter in-law who loved her as a mother; Louie, Amador, Joe, Manuel, Eddie, Daniel, Fred and Leroy; and Michelle. She had many friends and was called affectionately by many as "Emma Love" for that's what she was, "love." Visitation will begin on Sunday, March 4, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. with an Honor service to start at 7:00 p.m. at Abundant Life Church 7431 S. Presa. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Mission Park Funeral Chapels South. Interment will follow at Mission Burial Park South. Immediately after we will meet at King Of Glory Of San Antonio Church in the Alpha Hall for food and fellowship on 2627 Oak Island Dr. San Antonio, TX 78264.Emma Ramirez would want all of us to know, "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain."
