It is with deep love and profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Ernesto G. Espinoza, a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, decorated veteran, and cherished friend. Ernesto will be laid to rest with full military honors on August 29, 2025, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, where his service to his country and his legacy of strength and sacrifice were honored with the reverence he so deeply deserved. Born with the heart of a warrior and the soul of a protector, Ernesto enlisted in the United States Army in 1968, where he courageously served two tours during the Vietnam War. His bravery on the battlefield was recognized through numerous prestigious honors, including the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal with Silver and Bronze Stars, the Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, the Combat Infantry Badge, the esteemed Purple Heart, and the Marksman "Rifle" Medal. He returned home not only as a soldier but as a symbol of resilience, patriotism, and unwavering commitment. Ernesto was preceded in death by his beloved brother, Pete Espinoza, whose memory he carried with him always. He leaves behind a legacy rooted in love, laughter, and family. Ernesto is survived by his devoted wife, Ysabel Espinoza, whose beauty, strength, and grace were the center of his world. Together, they built a family that will forever reflect his values and spirit. Ernesto was the proud father of three children: Paul Rene Pereida (spouse: Chrisenda), Arthur Espinoza (spouse: Marissa), and his daughter, Lisa Marie Ramos. His joy multiplied through generations, as he was the adored grandfather of 15 grandchildren, the great-grandfather to 16 great-grandchildren, and the doting great-great-grandfather to 2 precious great-great-grandchildren. His home was never short on love—or on wagging tails—as he also shared his life with two loyal mascots, who stood as silent companions through his final days. Ernesto’s life was a testament to duty, faith, and family. He found joy in the little things, pride in his family’s accomplishments, and peace in the stories of his past. His legacy will live on in the generations he leaves behind and in the freedom he helped defend. Psalm 4:8
