Esther Ellen Cuevas Yarbro was born on November 27, 1924 and went to be with the Lord on October 4, 2012. Her life was dedicated to her family, providing for them a loving home. She was often seen in prayer for her family and her country. During World War II, Esther worked at the San Antonio Armory, doing her part to help the United States be victorious. It was during the war that Esther met Rex M. Yarbro. They were married on July 4, 1944 and the entire family enjoyed that the whole nation celebrated their union with fireworks each year thereafter. Mrs. Yarbro served alongside her husband, who served in the Army Air Corp during World War II and as a civilian for the Air Force, in service to their country by packing up the family to join her husband from one assignment to another. She provided a warm home and security for her family, living in such areas as Shemya Island Aleutians, Alaska, Scotland, New York, Utah, and Japan. She bravely flew to Shemya with her two small children to join her husband. She valiantly sailed alone with her two small children to join her husband in Scotland. Esther served with courage to provide a warm and happy home for her husband, children and a new baby in Japan. Along with the many responsibilities of holding the family together and maintaining a beautiful home, Esther graciously ministered to others in each of these assignments. She played piano, sang in the choir and often prepared meals for those who were in need. Throughout her life, Esther exemplified poise, grace, and beauty. Esther was preceded in death by her beloved husband Rex Yarbro. She is survived by her daughter Linda A. Yarbro Riley and her husband Jim; sons, Timothy P. Yarbro and his wife Judy; and Jeffrey S. Yarbro; along with her two grandsons, Joshua D. Yarbro, and Stephen P. Riley. Esther is also survived by her sister Eunice Kondoff and many nieces and nephews. Services SERVICES The family will receive friends at Mission Park Funeral Chapels North, from 5-8:00PM on Wednesday, October 10, 2012. A funeral service will be held at Mission Park Funeral Chapel North on Thursday, October 11, 2012 at 12:00PM. Interment will follow at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
