FUENTES Eva Fuentes was born June 10, 1923 in Robstown, TX and passed away on Thursday, March 15, 2012 in San Antonio, TX at the age of 88. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Fuentes after sixty three years of marriage. She is survived by her sons Leonard Jr. and daughter-in-law, Rosemary Fuentes, Robert and daughter-in-law, Cathie Fuentes of San Antonio, TX, and her daughter Linda and son-in-law, Joseph Jimenez of Avon IN, and brother Joaquin B. Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas. Eva was blessed to have 8 grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, and Barbara Fuentes, Robyn Fuentes and Allison Rose, and Sarah-Lynn Jimenez, Joseph Jimenez Jr., and Cara Jimenez Ross, along with 5 great grandchildren, Mia Fuentes, Alexander Fuentes, Evelyn Fuentes, Teagan Rose and Adalyn Rose and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Eva Fuentes, a woman of humble beginnings, was orphaned at an early age and completed the 8th grade of education. Throughout her life Eva was committed to a life of service and a life dedicated first and foremost to her family. Eva enjoyed traveling with her husband, Leonard, to the casinos of Las Vegas, to travel parks frequented by RV'ers, international excursions, and most especially the Gulf Coast where she and Leonard enjoyed countless hours fishing off the shores of Corpus Christi and Padre Island. Eva loved to laugh, to cook, and to share a glass of wine with family and friends. She instilled a sense of commitment in her children and grandchildren to seek a quality education and to be successful and happy in everything they set out to accomplish. Even in failing health, Eva continued to encourage her family to dream bigger dreams than they ever thought possible while never forgetting their roots or all those who helped them achieve their successes. Eva will be remembered by all who knew her as a warm and generous person, a caring sister, sister-in-law, and aunt, a loving wife and mother, and the greatest "Mamo" her grandchildren and great-grandchildren will ever know. Pallbearers will be her sons, Leonard and Robert Fuentes, son-in-law Joseph Jimenez, and grandsons Christopher Fuentes, Michael Fuentes and Joey Jimenez. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 5:00-9:00 p.m., with a Rosary at 6:00p.m. at Oak Hills Mortuary. Chapel Service will be held on Monday, March 19, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Funeral Procession departing Oak Hills Mortuary and Interment at San Fernando Cemetery #3 Roselawn Memorial, 1735 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX Ph: 210-432-2364.
