Francis C. "Frank" Keller passed away on April 19, 2026, at the age of 92. Born on May 3, 1933, in San Antonio, he was the third of six children of Walter and Clara (Priess) Keller. Francis was a kind, patient, loving and hardworking husband, father, and grandpa. He met his future wife Janyce Bonn in 1950 on a blind date. Five years later they were married at St. Leo’s Catholic Church, shared 69 loving years together and raised six children. Frank graduated from Central Catholic High School then attended St. Mary’s University in San Antonio. He earned his Bachelor of Business Administration degree summa cum laude and later completed his Masters degree in Business Administration. In addition to his academic achievements, upon graduating college he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Army. He rose to the rank of Captain while serving with the 18th Field Artillery Battalion at Ft. Sill, Oklahoma and later served in the Reserves. Later he worked in various businesses as an accountant and several years as an automotive battery salesman in the family business. His passion for learning and teaching then led him to an enjoyable and rewarding 26-year career as an educator in the School of Business at St. Mary’s University, where he inspired countless students with his knowledge and commitment. Frank found joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a deep connection to nature. In his early years, he enjoyed summer trips to his grandparents’ farm in Fredericksburg, Texas, and fishing trips to the coast with his dad and brothers. This inspired him to spend much of his time with his wife, Janyce, raising cattle and farming continuously from 1973 till he reluctantly retired at age 85. Gardening also brought him peace and fulfillment, while camping trips, especially those to Colorado, were cherished adventures with family in the great outdoors. He is survived by his children: David Keller (Mary Anne), Daniel Keller (Magdalena), Janis Belew (Andrew), and Barbara Keller; his sister Margaret Velasco; nine grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. Francis was predeceased by his beloved wife of 69 years, Janyce; daughter Nancy McCann; son Brian Keller and daughter-in-law Yolonda Keller; as well as grandsons Caleb Keller and Benjamin Keller. Also, brothers and sisters-in-law Walter and Berniece Keller; Fred and Margaret Keller; sisters and brothers-in-law Dorothy and Raymond Hayden; Helen and Frank Bily. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at Brookehill Funeral Home. Final viewing will be held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Brookehill Funeral Home with the Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Lawrence Catholic Church. Interment to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III. Family would like to invite family and friends to gather for a reception at St. Lawrence Parish Hall, immediately following the interment. Please note: There will be no funeral procession from the funeral home to the church. All guests are asked to meet directly at the church and then we will follow in procession to the cemetery.
