Franklin “Frankie” Wayne Kelly, was born January 26, 1956 and went to be with the Lord on February 8, 2023 at the age of 67. He is preceded in death by his parents Leonard Hill Kelly and Otelia “Hoffman” Kelly, brother Leonard “Pat” Kelly Sr., sisters Julia “Judy” Kelly Hilburn (Bob) and Nancy Rose Kelly. He is survived by his loving wife of over 31 years Sondra Lynne “Stevens” Kelly, son, Kevin Wayne Kelly, brothers, Robert Kelly Sr., John Kelly Sr., (Peggy), sister-n-law Barba Kelly and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great nieces, great nephews and friends. Frank graduated from East Central High School, Class of 1974 where he was on the football and wrestling team and won numerous awards. During his early adulthood he was an avid pool player, winning several championships. He was a gifted roofer, carpenter, race car engineer, crew chief, confidant, comedian, and friend to all. One of his greatest attributes was being the ultimate family man and rock for his mother, Tillie Kelly, whom he lovingly took care of for many, many years! His lifelong love was his wife, Sondra, as she completed him through her inspiration and support, while he taught her how to love! They had a pact, he would support her while she was young, and she would support him while he was old! We called him the “Miracle Kelly”, because of a serious health issue 15 years ago, when he had a 2% chance to survive major heart surgery, and an approximate 4 years after that if successful. Afterwards he called Sondra his “Angel” because she performed CPR to get him to the hospital. His new life goal was to see Kevin graduate high school. Not only did he achieve this goal, but he researched and managed all of Kevin’s Electrical Engineering college courses and scholarships at the University of Texas Austin. Frank was immensely proud to know Kevin, through his guidance, will be graduating in May 2023. As you can see, he was an especially loving and caring Husband, Dad, rock of our family and will be missed! Visitation will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 at Mission Park South from 5-8 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Mission Park South Tuesday, February 21, 2023 at 9 a.m. followed by interment at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas.
