Fred J. Reina, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, cousin, and friend/golfing buddy, who was called home to his Heavenly Father on November 16, 2024. Born on May 22, 1938, in San Antonio, TX, he was a man whose charm, quick wit, and gentle sarcasm brought joy to all who knew him. A man of great determination, Fred honorably served his country in the Marine Reserves and the active Navy. He carried the values of loyalty, perseverance, and humility throughout his life. After his military service, Fred poured his passion and dedication into founding Alamo City Construction, a business he and his father built with hard work, vision, and pride. The company became more than a profession; it was a labor of love and a testament to his enduring dedication. Today, the company’s legacy continues through his son; Mark Reina and his grandson; Mason Reina. Fred was a cornerstone of his family, who he cherished. Known for his sweet spirit and sharp humor, he could light up a room with his stories and his infectious laugh. Whether offering a kind word or a clever joke, he left a mark on the hearts of those around him. Beyond his professional achievements, Fred found joy on the golf course. A true enthusiast of the sport, he spent countless hours playing alongside his many golfing buddies, who he respected and valued. He is survived by his first wife; Olivia Gonzales Reina, his children; Fredrick Joseph Reina Jr., Frank James Reina and his wife Luz Reina, Margaret Ann Reina, Edward Jay Reina, Mark Anthony Reina and his wife Venus R. Reina, Norma Jean Gomez, Andrew Louis Reina, and Melissa Marie Saenz; his 16 grandchildren; his 9 great grandchildren; and his sister; Beatrice Saxon (Bee Rice). He is also survived by his stepchildren and step-grandchildren from his second marriage to his late wife Minerva Reina. He is predeceased by his mother; Concepcion Ramirez Reina, father; Louis Angel Reina, stepmother; Dolores (Lola) Reina, and his siblings; Hope, Dora, Connie, and Louie. Fred will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, charm, humor, and service will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him
